Hi ASUSmy

Seems that aicloud app cannot upload videos? I can only upload photos but not videos from my iPhone

Is it normal to get usb3 speed around 20MBps++ r/w?

For the transfer speed part, it is totally normal for a router.

Well a bit disappointed then. My Airport Extreme 5th gen can give me same speed. Thats usb2.0.

Which model you having now?

Maybe you can get a NAS, they are optimised for USB file transfer.

Ac68u with latest Merlin.

The purpose of usb3 were defeated.... :/

USB 3.0 will interfere with Wireless 2.4Ghz. Maybe you can disable the reducing USB 3.0 interference option at the wireless settings. Do not expect significant improvement.
*
Disabled usb3 interference - checked
Also tried off 2.4ghz wifi
Tried everything possible

Still same r/w speed

Did research. Seems like im not the only one with the slow usb3 performance.

I guess its the router itself

Sorry for noob question, how do we download and upload files to usb attached hardisk while connected to the same router? I am using AIcloud.. Is there any other way to do it?

And also AI cloud seems like cannot delete folder/files from root directory... only can delete folders/files which is in a folder...
*
If in Local Network, from laptop or pc can use SMB or FTP. samba is much slower than ftp.
im using a mac where as my router supports AFP. AFP works best for Mac. Way faster.

In Samba u cannot delete anything in root. create a folder in root directory.

Finally got my hands on the RT-AC1200G+, the affordable Wireless AC router from Asus.

It offers a great value and performs decently. Definitely a good replacement for the stock TM router, DIR-850L.

For Mac

if the router doesnt support AFP, can always use SMB.

Transfer rate so slow... Connected to usb 3 with usb3 compatible hardisk... Transfer speed to HDD only around 7-8 mbps... cry.gif

Well, its an issue with Samba. im using AFP protocol

USB 3.0 can reach at least 20-30mbps+- write, 30-40mbps+- read gigabit wired

using USB 3.0 i got average 15-20mbps+- read/write using 5GHz wireless

i tested Samba can get at least 15mbps+- wired

Cool! thumbup.gif btw just wondering have u used rt-n12hp before? The 2 model that u got same coverage with n12hp?
*
I used rt-n14uhp before. Sold it,bought ac55uhp. Few months back bought ac68u then.

AC68U slightly better, ±10% more coverage than other two

overall performance on ac68u. You get what you pay for rclxms.gif

Thanks for the reply guys.

I can confirm it originated from the router :/

I used my iPhone Fing app to ping the router and it also shows shit ping results.

bangwall.gif  bangwall.gif  bangwall.gif

LAN cable works fine on laptop btw, shows <1ms consistently...seems the N12D1 model is not very good :/ I didnt buy better routers because there are not many users using this router (only 1 heavy user)...

Distance is very short btw, maybe 2 meters? Signal is generally full bar because its only blocked by 1 layer of concrete...well door(wooden)...

Problem is its not very consistent (repeatability of high ping is fairly random) so I am having a hard time finding the cause of it lol.

An eye for an eye. You should use a 2.4GHz jammer to disrupt his devices.
