last time TAME intake....SPM holder also can join.
now....u need a diploma.

TAME program for LWTR is 3 years. but most people take 4 yrs.
add up 2 years for type rating after u have your LWTR.

hmm where is this?.

about AK...i dunno..

will be working as a JUNIOR technician (in MAS), technician...need to work for few years laa
junior tech aka mechanic, technician aka senior mech (dulu2)

the qualification to take LWTR, need to refer DCA
DCA decide whether u can take or not
MAS apprentice, not so sure, i think 3 yrs eligible to take LWTR (if complete all modules)
why different between MAS and TAFE? ask DCA (one of the reason, i think, mas tame got to work with a/c)

salary..starting maybe RM2000 plus ur allowances maybe can get RM4000 per month (for new LAE with 737 type)
real salary depend on OVER TIME (this is how they get 5 digit RM)
but, they are certain LAE who have a basic salary of RM15000 more or less (they already for a lot of yrs in the company and multiple type rating)

salary for junior tech....basic RM1200 plus bla bla u can get RM1700
for technician...at least RM2000 per month (not easy to become technician, u need to be a good kaki tikam + kipas)

kesimpulannya, all jobs start with low salary (especially in MAS)

you may apply through AirAsia, MAS or Transmile.....you have to be alert with their advertisement for the new TAME intake whether from newspaper or their websites....the minimum academic requirement for airline companies' TAME is SPM.....

there is also other option to pursue ur dream in this field but I recommended u to apply through airlines intake as for SPM holder.

the intake depends on them so that's why u have to be alert for their advertisement..... as this year the new intake for AirAsia just started their class this week......but their advertisement went out on March..... just 30 were selected for this intake; the 1st batch of 15 already start their class this week while the other 15 on January next year.....so I dont know when is the next new intake for next year..... so u have to check it out regularly on their web or in the newspaper...

the TAME is a 5-year programme consists of class and on-job-training (OJT)...
no worry just go for ur NS first because u still young, got many years to try apply for this programme......

Actually getting recognition from DCA is optional. Eg. AA at this point of time will have 5 groups of trainees.. is AA Training School approved? Not that I know of....

As long as you comply to BCAR Section L, you should qualify to sit for the LWTR exam.
If not how do you explain private individuals that took the exam on their own? (and passed, biggrin.gif)

What about the fees for the programme ?

yeah, so limited place.....so u have to compete with other applicants during the selection process..... just give it a try even though only a SPM holder....no harm trying as the minimum requirement is SPM .....if u have been called 4 interview/selectiorn process, just do ur best and show ur enthusiasm in aviation world..... most of the trainees now are also SPM holders....

if u are selected for AirAsia/MAS/Transmile TAME, the companies will support the fees....but u have to prepare to sign agreement with them because after graduating this programme, you are bonded with them for a certain period of time....

The Section L (Licensing) of the BCAR prescribes the minimum requirements to qualify for the LWTR (License Without Type Rating).

What are they? That you have to do some 'work'.. too lengthy to type. biggrin.gif
