You should ROUNDDOWN (<cell>*0.05,2)
And I did receive EXACTLY RM49.96 sad.gif + PayPal transaction is calculated based on posting date and based on actual charged MYR amount.

So next time maximise the RM50 by spending 1010. No more rounding biggrin.gif

If you are paying via M2U + AMEX, you can do it on both days to enjoy the 5% Weekend Rebate.
Transaction Date = Posting Date for TNB transactions over M2U

I called into Maybankard CS today to enquire about my missing 4 sen from my April 2013's 5% Weekend Rebate.

I calculated total transaction : RM1000.71 but they gave me RM49.96 only. mad.gif

They checked and told me I should get lesser as the PayPal I did on 31-Mar-2013 (posted on 2 April) was not counted under April 2013.
Can anybody confirm this ?
*
ronnie, i tot this was confirmed by u b4? it is stated at the first few posts

count every transaction by using the floor formula in excel
=FLOOR(X*0.05,0.01)
it round down to nearest 1 cents.

eg:
39.99 x 0.05 = 1.9995
even round is 2, but the rebate should only 1.99

i record every transaction, and this formula is tally with rebate

Mine also have 2 or 3 cents differences sometimes. Have not got the exact formula so far.
Will test out above to see the outcome based on my historical spendings.
Thanks for the formula. notworthy.gif

On the other hand, I also find some differences in the TP calculation.
Any rounding used at each transaction before x5?
E.g. RM100.60 will get 503 TP (no rounding) or 500 TP (round down) or 505 TP (round up)?

and if i do 12 month installment for RM2000 on weekend..will i get cash back for every month? or is just a one time cash rebate

1 time cash back: RM2000*0.05= RM50 (capped at RM50)
monthly cash back: RM8.3 *12=RM100

Anyone has experience in it?

thanks

From my past experience, I think cashback is calculated on per transaction, not in whole at end of month, as hiansitt said.

E.g.

RM411.99 * 5% = FLOOR(RM20.5995) = RM20.59
RM588.01 * 5% = FLOOR(RM29.4005) = RM29.40

Therefore, cashback for that month is RM20.59 + RM29.40 = RM49.99. 1 sen short.

If we calculate the 5% using total amount, it'll be RM50

Cashback is definitely based on ROUNDDOWN.
The 5x TP is as it is. They actually keep up to 2 decimals as i check the screen during points redemption.

For 5x TP, I did tried keeping in Excel without rounding...seems there are stil 1 to 2 TP diff (sometimes) with the statement.
Just that it is too small value, din get to find out the exact formula they use. laugh.gif
Will recheck my transaction history in my spare time. Thanks. smile.gif

1 to 2 TP away means you are always correct... M2U usually display +1TP than Excel's calculation
