The last tin dredge mammoth machine now sit in Batu Gajah, Perak as a museum and heritage site. Once the mighty machine that eats up the soils and spit-up valuable raw tin ore. Perak once great economy thrives on them.

Sadly, I haven't touched my camera for quite a long time already. As I've started college and staying in the hostel. Will only be home during weekends. Weekends usually spent with family and badminton lessons. How ah? cry.gif

Thats the flare you get for shooting directly into the street lights. Try other angles and you wont find it.

Hey all. Am looking for some advice on equipment. I am currently interested in expanding my photography skills and make it into a serious hobby (still a student). I enjoy shooting portraits and sports events.
My current equipment is:
Sony A35
18-55mm f3.5-5.6
50mm f1.8
55-200mm f4-5.6

Anyways, my birthday is coming up soon, so looking to hopefully get either a new lens or a flash biggrin.gif. Budget probably around RM400~
Any idea on what I should invest in? tongue.gif

Cool, what flash do you recommend?
*
I'd say get a flash. F43 or better still, F58. smile.gif Or you can consider quality third party flashes like Metz. smile.gif

oh whille you're at it - do you happen to know what filter would be good for the CZ1635? I'm eyeing on a B+W Z-pro / F-pro range filter but let me know if you happen to know any other better filter for CZ1635 when it comes to controlling those flares examples I posted in previous page.

Thanks, Which model is suitable for me and what kit should I buy together with the camera?

You still haven't answered the question. What is your budget? Of course if I'd recommend without thinking about budget then it's the A57 with 18135

this canon, nikon or sony is better is never-ending story. i came across that dilemma when i want to buy my first dslr then. end up buying sony A200 coz my wife say it look nicer and more ergonomic (that time lah!). now i'm with sony even after a few attempt from my friends to 'lompat' to another brand..
*
Sony is great, seriously! I've owned the A380, A55, A350, A580 & A77. So far all have served me good! Great camera manufacturer. I've also tried the D3200 and 450D. Still not poisoned to jump.

My friend previously using Sony DSLR, he complained the color of the photo taken is too much and now he changed to Canon 550D.
*
Colour taken too much? Meaning? Too contrasty and vibrant? Lol that can be set! How can you blame the manufacturer for that?? Its customizable! Haiyaaaa..

I totally agree 8tvt. Why must Sony change the hotshoe?! We're special like that. Who cares about ISO. So now if I upgrade to A99 I have to change all my flashes to F60? If I buy an A58 now I have to buy F60 also? That's ridiculous. Yes you can say that the converter is RM100. But we didn't have to spend the RM100 last time when everything was Sony hotshoe.

Safe on NEX, not safe on a57. Cos it will downgrade the EVF and LCD resolution. Making ur a57 become like a37

Hello,

Currently considering between the A65 vs D5100. Love the A65 10FPS burst as I will be shooting motorsports a lot. But I am not familiar with Sony..so the question is..it the lens choice good for Sony? I will need a zoom lens, at least 200 or 300mm max.

Thanks.
*
I hope youre not brainwashed by the internet into another "Sony not enough lenses" thing please. rclxub.gif

That's totally bullshit! But yes, many lenses for the range you want. I believe William has already named you a few. Not forgetting third party lenses. Tamron 70200/2.8 isn't a bad choice either. smile.gif
