sorry i missed out the text "street". thanks.

and F58 doesn't have 1/3 stop!??!? I didn't know that. haha. All the while I thought F58 is super uber cobra. biggrin.gif

for Canon, sometimes I go out with my 430EX II instead of 580EX II for weight and size reason.

Hi, recently planned to buy wireless triggers for me and my friend, from our initial budget looks like the Aputure Trigmaster looks good. When mounted on body, the trigger 'triggers' the receivers but flash HVL-F42 wont fire. Googled around didnt find much then call a friend they say have the same problem, works fine on F43/F58 he said. *anyone to clarify

Then decided to get the Strato (ver 1), works fine. Only that after being idle for awhile the flash went to 'sleep mode' then need to 'sync' (unmount the flash from trigger --> mount on to body --> click or half click shutter --> remount on to trigger) , every single time went to sleep mode.    cry.gif

Anyone with this trigger tried on other flashes?  hmm.gif  rclxub.gif
*
Connect the flash to the body first, then remove it and connect to the receiver. After connecting the trigger to the body the body should already show the Flash sign (set to flash on the f42 as well). Then just shoot or if it still doesnt work then check the channels, or maybe the receiver is low on batt.

Jumpship? No la. brows.gif probably multiple ships.

I'm no fan of EVF and SSS but since early days I do have my respect for Sony products. smile.gif

Looking at A99 for my photo + video, with NEX system as video.

Quite costly to acquire all the stuff I want so no harm coming here, read and learn about the system. Right?

I'm just curious why Sony doesn't even highlight the vari-angle LCD on the A99 - not on the website, not on brochure either.
*
I, at first, was also a lil uncoomfortable with EVF. Its like wth I already have an LCD. Why would I want to be looking into another LCD again?! My first EVF was the a55. Had it temporarily. Found it good, no comments except a lil noisy and bluish. After they launched the a77, went to test it and fell in love with the EVF. Significant improvement over the a55 EVF. So I decided to get the a77 as well. smile.gif

No, I use this

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2485482&hl=

p/s : I hope this is not considered selling otherwise see you guys in 3 days time. rclxub.gif

edit : Yup just tested again. Works fine. Make sure you've turned the receiver on and same channel as the trigger. When you press the button on the trigger, the light on the receiver should come on. If it does, just connect the flash to any body and remove, plug it into the receiver and press the trigger button again to see if it works.

Waited for so long and only realised that my flash is set to 'never power off' doh.gif

16-105. No regrets.

I have one for sale though. tongue.gif

No but seriously, its a very good lens. I always bring this lens for travelling. Maybe with a 50/1.4. Or maybe you may want to take a look at the 1650/2.8. But the range is close to the 1855 lah. smile.gif

QUOTE(lwliam @ Feb 23 2013, 10:40 AM)
So does it mean, for any given lens that is mounted, when AF-ing, it will be at max aperture. So assuming at max aperture, lets say f/2.8 (and since shutter speed and ISO doesn't affect AF module performance), if light levels are perfectly exposed being 0EV, the camera will still be able to AF with normal performance. If light level drops (after sunset for example - and for argument sake, u only have a 20mm f/2.8 lens) your aperture is already at f/2.8, but because the AF sensor has a sensitivity of -3EV, you'd be able to get focus lock as though you're using an f/1.0 lens (as though more light is entering the lens to fall upon the AF module - but in fact, it's the boosted sensitivity of the AF module)

Does that make sense? Or am I seeing it wrong?

Not sure whether right or not but makes sense.

the only thing I didn't like about A99 now, is that I can't timer the exposure bracket photos. sad.gif and the continuous exp bracket seem to stop at count of 2 instead of 3 despite set to 3.

strangely is continuous bracket of 3 worked fine before assignment.

good thing is that the shutter button does not require a CLICK to activate, so it's not so bad. No need worry about shaking the camera body.

Ok can buy already.

oh ok. well, i need a remote wireless release if i can't timer the bracket. cos I shoot interior, sometimes I just need the camera to fire but I need to move away within the 10 second timer.

that aside, I love the LCD angles. It's a lot better than my 60D. I also love the focus peaking so I need not Zoom 5x / 10x just to see the area in focus.

I can live without the lack of timered bracket for the above convenience.

btw do you guys turn SteadyShot off when on tripod? I turned it off when on tripod. Very afraid of sensor movement, just in case.
*
The LCD angles are just.. More than superb. I don't know how to say it. My A77 is just.. Speechless. Too good.
