Can some kind soul owner of a FLX CVT answer a fellow Saga member's enquiry? I can't give a reliable answer since I don't have the car anymore
QUOTE(MR_alien @ Dec 29 2012, 08:14 PM) want to ask something abt proton's CVT or any other CVT when u stopped @ traffic light pressing the brake(fully)...no change to N, still in D will the CVT stop itself? my meaning of stop itself mean that even if u release the brake pedal slowly...it won't even move(as if its in N) cuz the mirage CVT...when fully stop at traffic light...when i release 80-90% of the brake pedal...it still doesn't move it will only start moving after i fully release the brake |

I can't give a reliable answer since I don't have the car anymore If I am not mistaken, the TCU will automagically detect that you are waiting for the traffic light and disengage the clutch. Whether the TCU engage the clutch upon fully or partial release of the brake, I am not quite sure. Normally I just fully release my brake pedal. Will test someday, |

I can't give a reliable answer since I don't have the car anymore i have tried it few days back my FLX SE will move when i release my brake even a little bit from fully press. I believe by doing this will harm our brake pad also the clutch i guess, any anyone correct me? |

Will test someday, from my observation, at least the clutch will be released slowly even if u fully release the brake or not, that's without pressing accel, for certain angle of slope it will hold the car still |

QUOTE(BahWanG @ Dec 29 2012, 10:10 PM) Saga one the moment you release brake, it will start creeping instantly if the car is on a flat road.. On upwards slope, it will rollback a bit before the creeping function gains full power to creep the car upwards. Downwards slope, no need to say la. use logic. lol release a bit of brakes = creep slower lo. On a side note, never let the car to creep upwards without any throttle. Doing so will grant you a toasted clutch. |

QUOTE(BahWanG @ Dec 29 2012, 10:30 PM) operating the CVT unit in the Saga is actually different than operating a conventional AT car. that's what i've doing all this while.. perhaps car behind me thought i'm driving manual, especially at traffic lights. In conventional AT car, you press on the brakes, select D, release handbrake then release brakes and finally press minyak and go. For the Saga CVT, one can actually skip away with the brakes. One can simply slot into D, release handbrakes and terus pijak minyak and vroom away. Try that CVT method in a AT car, you'll jerk the shit during launching.... but now i mostly brake 1st jz to make sure the car behind notice that i'm gonna move This post has been edited by blau-saga: Dec 29 2012, 10:52 PM |
