I was also wondering about that, the older batch FLXs don't have that. Did they say what is it for?
*
my SA didn't mention the exact function of it, on the receipt the item is - seal assy, hood front no 2 (blm)
mybe to improve intake flow or simply blocking dirt cause i already put rubber seal on headlamp and whole grille except near intake, but later found out it's ok to block it anyway

QUOTE(haur516 @ Dec 28 2012, 07:21 PM)
Bro~u haven't tell us any improvement after update, which SC you go?
*
i've been using 2 weeks since the update, as others hv mentioned no more 'semput' issue when idling
crawling traffic jerking mostly gone earlier on update, but now seems to hv, but not as bad as before
i think it's almost the same as preve ecu update.. seems like they change 'D' to use 'L' setting

when i ask for update, the sa asked me if there's any problem b4, in the receipt only said -to update software. no mention of ecu or tcu

TQVM in adv.  thumbup.gif

Added on December 28, 2012, 8:49 pmps. Am wondering if it's of any benefit 2BLMs/FLs? An improvement...? icon_rolleyes.gif

hi, i've been a silent reader to this forum since i bought my flx in 2011 august.

here's the photo, not my car.

red = claimed foc item. almost like big-d seal
yellow = my own seal (small-d)
Attached Image

btw, i also hv big-d rubber on the front edge of hood for better seal including between headlamp and hood

if seal whole gap of course la cleaner engine bay, if only the intake don't know hmm.gif

Tks a meg, Bro! For the pic c/w added illustration re seals.  thumbup.gif  notworthy.gif

Is the function juz 2keep out dust?
Did SC ppl tell yu why...?

Kinda like blocking airflow...hotter engine compartment?
If seal blocks intake, it'd b like hot-air intake rather than CAI...thereby defeating purpose of putting intake with ducting there in first place, agreed?  tongue.gif

Cld yu pls clarify why yu added the big-D rubber seal @yellow-marked locations as well as H/lamps area?
TQ in adv!
*
at first i thought it the hood cover, so no further question
later found out only that small rubber.. haha

initially i only cover front between bonnet and headlamp/grille except the air intake part
i've search and asked people and my conclusion is the air should be coming from grille upward into the intake, if we assume the intake does suck air
the gap on our saga jz too big compared to other makes or persona for example.

and if the gap does function shouldn't it be big enough to suck more air?

also the engine bay is quite dirty cause water and dust easily came into engine compartment thru the gap

Many tks, Bro! For yr explanation... notworthy.gif
Yup, logically appears that cld b the reason...
With our windy & rainy weather...plus our dusty environment!!
Water (& dust,etc) cld b sucked directly in2 intake mouth @that location... sweat.gif

ps. Might b a good idea 2add those Big-D/Small-D seals...4those BLMs/FLs which don't come with the seals...even certain FLX batches? hmm.gif
*
i've seen from picture of blm and so far none hv it. latest flx batches need to ask members here who jz got their car biggrin.gif

If I am not mistaken, the TCU will automagically detect that you are waiting for the traffic light and disengage the clutch. Whether the TCU engage the clutch upon fully or partial release of the brake, I am not quite sure. Normally I just fully release my brake pedal. Will test someday,
*
from my observation, at least the clutch will be released slowly even if u fully release the brake or not, that's without pressing accel, for certain angle of slope it will hold the car still

Saga one the moment you release brake, it will start creeping instantly if the car is on a flat road.. On upwards slope, it will rollback a bit before the creeping function gains full power to creep the car upwards. Downwards slope, no need to say la. use logic. lol

release a bit of brakes = creep slower lo.

On a side note, never let the car to creep upwards without any throttle. Doing so will grant you a toasted clutch.

operating the CVT unit in the Saga is actually different than operating a conventional AT car.

In conventional AT car, you press on the brakes, select D, release handbrake then release brakes and finally press minyak and go.

For the Saga CVT, one can actually skip away with the brakes. One can simply slot into D, release handbrakes and terus pijak minyak and vroom away.

Try that CVT method in a AT car, you'll jerk the shit during launching.... laugh.gif

that's what i've doing all this while.. perhaps car behind me thought i'm driving manual, especially at traffic lights.
but now i mostly brake 1st jz to make sure the car behind notice that i'm gonna move

when stopping at traffic light, i nvr put to P, N sufficient + handbrake for safety.
from P to D will activate reverse light oo.. and too far already (time consuming)

why my aircond sometimes become smelly, like someone fart.

Not easy to open it.  You need to open total 6 clips before can remove the plastic grating, and 4 of them need to break it and replace with new one, make sure u get the new clip before u break it. Good luck.

front passenger door side too produce sound when go tru uneven road, smting loose d i tink..

guys, alignment only adjusted for the front? the shop that i went only adjusted front only...
*
rear brake, try go cose to claim new bigger drum brake, as what i've read on prosboc's fb

for door side, that's normal, even go to sc ask to rectify, it'll be the same
solution do door soundproof

alignment: yes front only, rear torsion beam so less likely to hv alignment issues unless rallying etc laugh.gif
