When I try to install MPT I get some error saying that it could not load "PbkInstall.dll" then I can't run the program after that. Any ideas how to fix this? Do I need MPT to connect my phone to my PC or can I just use it as Plug-n-Play?

How do you enable the selection in the v3i Ring Styles -> Event Lights?
I have the Ring Styles selection enabled using p2k 0.8.6 build 406. but i don know how to find offset 63? using latest p2ktools in seem editor

offset 63 is offset 6 and 3......u must know your seem as well

then just check or uncheck the bits

to install the funlight, go to c/mobile/audio/ folder, locate funlight.pat, make a backup, then rename the funlight file u just downloaded to funlight.pat and copy it back in....

care to share step by steps??

I just discovered something happend to my v3i, yerterday after i try to enable the funlight (not successful), my messages center onli left 3 function that is New Message, Voicemail n Browser Msgs... other such like Inbox n Outbox all missing, is it possible to use the p2k 0.8.6 build 406 to get back other function...?

Yup. You should be able to re-enable those through the Other Features menu in P2KTools.

The Reflash will update your software version only, leaving the Flex alone. MLP indicates that the flash file does not contain a language pack. This is useful if you are happy with your current language pack or do not want to go through the hassle of flashing to update the software and then flashing on a new language pack. MDRM indicates that the flash file does not contain DRM icons. This is useful if you already have custom DRM icons and do not want to revert back to the Motorola defaults.

MPs contain flash, Flash, and can also be used to update the bootloader. These are particularly useful in the event that a bad flash occurs. Reflashing a bricked phone with a new MP will restore it to working condition in most situations.

Contains both the Flex and a software update.

Controls the language options that are available for menus and messaging on the phone.

Language Packs custom-made by MotoX. They may contain a mix of languages not normally found in a single language pack.

These flash files are used to change the DRM icons. By flashing your phone with a DRM reflash, you can change out the battery level indicator, charge indicator, Bluetooth activity, etc.

As always, make sure to back up before attempting a flash.

coz my v3x already has mms, wap, streaming settings presetted for digi/maxis/celcom..

i want those setting to be maintained when i flash "Reflash_mlp(tm)", is that ok?

*btw, i can't seem to find changelog to show then changes/updates/improvements between version of flex and firmwares.

my v3x currently got problem with alarm which will not ring at presetted time when enabled, and the sound alert for incoming sms.. seems to be very different from what i choose.. i choose doorbell.. and tested the sound ok, but when received sms.. the sound is "zing" and not the doorbell sound

I'm not too sure where these settings are located on the phone memory. I'm pretty sure that the settings will be erased, though. Best to note it all down.

Edit:

I can't get my hands on a changelog for the updates, either. Flex is more related to the actual branding of the phone, not so much the functionality of it.

Must apologize once again because I have no experience with the RAZR series outside of the V3i. Perhaps try to do a Master Clear / Master Reset. This will, however, erase everything that you have already put on the phone. Bear in mind that flashing your phone will also reset it back to stock status.

When you guys connect your phone to your PC, does Windows auto detect it? Mine says that it needs to reboot after installing some drivers. Also, when you plug your phone in, iTunes says "Upadating Mobile Phone" is this normal? Howcome the transfer is so slow, USB 1.1?

I also sometimes feel like the conection is kinda "buggy" like sometimes cannot eject it, it says "files in use" and iTunes constantly updates the phone while transfering songs. Browsing the phone's directory is also kinda slow.

Ok, do you only want to transfer songs? If that's the case, then you don't need to install MPT. Install MPT only if you want to back up your address book or your SMSes. That's what I use it for.

When you connect your V3i to your computer, XP will detect it as a Motorola RAZR V3i (iTunes) and will automatically install drivers. You shouldn't have to point it out to anything specific. When the USB Connection Mode is set to Memory Card, the V3i will automatically attempt to sync with iTunes.

Yes, it's normal for iTunes to say "Updating Mobile Phone". The transfer rate is slow because the V3i uses USB 1.1. The same applies to the SLVR L7.

Browsing the phone through Windows Explorer is slow. If you connect your phone in Data/Fax Mode to P2KTools, it's rather quick at finding and updating directories.

Yes, you can flash the language pack and it should be perfectly fine. I flashed my R47A_G_08.D8.67R with R479_G_08.B4.37R_LP0015_reflash. When it reached 99%, it popped up with an error. However, rebooting the phone showed that the flash had completed successfully.

When i installed the P2K commander, an icon would show up on my taskbar, kinda like a red star, called the P2K autostart. I had some problems with my USB after that, so i unistalled the imega pack , which fixed my problem.

The icon is still there though, i don't know how to get rid of it. I tried searching and deleting all P2Kautostart files too.

I went to MotoX website and overwhelm by the sheer number of packages.

What is the package that is recommended? Any difference between Monster Machine and Monster Pack?

And Reflash is actually a standalone flash image compare to Monster?

If i only use English, I don't need and Language Pack?

How come i don't have Bootloader?

Do i need to unlock my phone first?

The Monster Machine packs are ones that have been hacked and put together by MotoX.

The Reflash will update only the software version and will also write whatever Language Pack is present in the flash file onto your phone. Monsterpacks are useful in that they can upgrade your Bootloader. Reflashing a bricked phone with a Monster Pack will generally bring it back

Your phone does have a Bootloader. Turn off your phone and wait for it to shutdown completely. Then hold down the # and * keys while holding the red power button. The phone will boot up in Bootloader mode displaying the Bootloader version and the software version.

The flex is the branding of the phone. Don't worry too much about these numbers.

What provider are you using your V3 with right now?

I would suggest that you reflash with the most recent Monster pack, available direct from MotoX here.

Later on, Flash with the Language Pack of your choice here. Make sure to back up all contact information before flashing!
