i flashed my V3i with the help of yetieater......

now i am getting some serious seems editing on my gf's V3....

v3i can support up to 1Gb transflash?

yup! can support 1GB
but problem is iTunes only limit 50 songs

Some phones have iTunes locked at 100 songs. I don't know which regions or carriers have iTunes locked at different levels. My V3i was a carrier-free AP set, 50 song limit.

i think u can crack the limit using seem edit.
did that last time while having e398

i really hope that the limit can be cracked.
it is really killing the fun of an otherwise excellent phone.
i've tried searching for the hack but can't seem to find any.
by the way, a sandisk 1GB microSD is going at 280 a pop at the PC fair

then i unchecked bit 2.......and it didnt work either.....

The V3i has rather basic functions. You've got your Bluetooth, MicroSD card slot for additional memory, SMS, MMS, Web Browser, speakerphone. It's a decent phone, its feature set is not exactly rich in today's standards. The styling is its main selling point.
If you read the first few posts in this thread, you'll have a better understanding of the terms. When you flash the phone, you are rewriting the memory with a new software revision, language pack, etc. This may fix some old software-related problems or give your phone new functionality.

SEEM Editing is similar to making changes in your computer's registry. You can control a wide range of settings through SEEM edits.

MPT is different from what's in the Motorola iMega Pack. The iMega Pack has P2KCommander, the Motorola P2K Drivers, XVI32, and Skinner 4 Moto. MPT is a Motorola release that allows you to sync your phone with your computer, compose SMSes from your computer to send through your phone, etc. It's not particularly powerful software, but it's nice for backing up your address book.

Ask whoever you bought your phone from to supply you with the MPT installation CD. Otherwise, it's going to take a bit of searching to find it.

That firmware is for the RAZR V3 only, not for the V3i. Please see here for all V3i Monster Packs:

You can also consider using a reflash_mlp:

These update your phone's Flex and Software, but do not change the Language Pack. Just one less thing to fix up after the new flash


The RAZR V3i iTunes and DAP version flash files are not compatible with one another. If you flash a V3i iTunes with a DAP flash, you will brick the phone. The same goes for a DAP V3i flashed with an iTunes flash.

Flashing can't be done by P2KTools. You'll have to get RSD or RSD Lite in order to do that. From cyberloner's MOTOSLVR L7 thread:

The Reflash_mlp_mdrm means that the file contains neither a language pack nor a set of DRM icons. You can go ahead and use this file to flash your phone. Its main purpose is for those Motorola users who have already customized their DRM icons and do not want to flash them on again after upgrading.

i've did the seem edit on the sound player.
now using it as a alternative for itunes, no more 50 songs limit.
just use playlist to organize the songs, i.e. a playlist for an album or a particular singer/genre/language/etc and a playlist for all the songs if you want to play the whole selection.
works pretty good and gotten myself a 1GB microSD to store the songs.
