By flashing this Monster pack, it will erase my LanguagePack? Why do i need to flash with new Language Pack? I only need English.

In the event something screw up after flashing, wat option i have?? hehe...

Can explain more on the FunLight? i read ur explanation but don't quite get it. I don't see any possible led outside the case that could be lid up (except for the exterior screen) to indicate an event like SMS arrived.

Sorry exshige, I have no idea what improvements have been made in the MP that I linked versus the software revision that you're using right now. Generally, the phone is optimized a little further for speed.
Yes, using this flash will erase your current LP. The LP in the MP that I posted earlier is LP0039 (UK English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Turkish, Portuguese). A little overkill for most of us

Another option is to reflash using a reflash_mlp, that is a flash file that does not alter your phone's flex or its current LP. Here's an appropriate one:

Assuming that it was simply a problem with the flash file that you used, you can attempt to restore the phone using another MP. If this fails, then you'll have to do a test-point flash. This is a little more complicated and requires diassembly of the phone itself. If you end up in even deeper trouble you'll have to find someone with a SmartClip to repair your phone for you.

Don't worry though, flashing's pretty safe.
Does the RAZR V3 have no external Bluetooth and Battery Charge indicator LEDs? Those are present on the Motorola RAZR V3i, along with a blue Motorola logo. Eventlights, based on the pattern that has been used, will light up external lights when you have received an SMS. Funlights will light up the backlight, keypad lights, etc. when you receive a call. Clublights will light up the backlight and keypad lights when playing back sound files. Clublights sync to music, or so I hear - I haven't used them.

I would recommend that you use Motorola RSD Lite to flash your phone. That's what I've been using for the Motorola RAZR V3i. RSD Lite is available from the site linked in my signature.

RSD Lite worked just fine. I also started messing around with new skins via P2kcommander and followed the flash tutorial to install skins. However, checking the README in some of the skins recommended using PST first to install the Flex files - is this step necessary? Because when I tried it it always error'ed out.

With the new flash/flex applied I noticed I have lots of EU languages - can I use RSD Lite again to reflash to a new LP containing eg English/Chinese?

Hi moto owner, just found out that motorola can check our flashing phone history by open the PDS record inside our phone, even we also can check our own flashing history by using FLASHBACKUP 2.62 pds editor. so for all original sets becareful when modding. I myself almost kena void warranty by motorola that day coz of flashing so many times.

I believe that the whole flex thing was necessary in older phones. I'm not so sure about this. I myself just copy the skin directory over to the respective directories on the phone itself.
Yup! Simply reflash to a new LP if you have languages that you don't need lying around. Download LP0015 (US English + Simplified Chinese) from here.

Before flashing the LP, do you know if different LPs will consume more/less space in the v3? Eg If I flash a English/Chinese LP vs. a English/Dutch/German/Turkish/Timbaktu LP, would the LP with less languages save more space?

I don't think there will be any change in the amount of space that it occupies. If there is any difference, it will be negligible.

About seem edits I dont think they know about it. afterall they dont have many time to check our phones seem modification .and I suspect some of the tech dont even know what is call seem editing.

my model is V3, no bluetooth LED or the M logo outside is not a LED. so i guess Funlight to me is useless...

Is a wise upgrade from k700i to V3i? Or should i go for K750i? I currently can get motorola phone for staff price. Was looking at V3i due to its stylish look.

hi to all sifu, i'm the new user of v3. I have encounter some problem with this phone:
1) when tried to categorised my phone book entries ( wish to assign ring tones to specific numbers) it seems like cannot group to the default categories i.e VIP, personal, business etc. And then i read manual book, it says that in order to categorised, the phone numbers must be in phone memory instead of sim's memory, rite? so i tried and it also persists the same problem which when i change the stlye detail, it will come back to the menus page......
2) i've been using nokia phones previously, so when copy the phone number from sim to phone which prompt me whether to merge or overwrite and i've selected overwrite and poof all my number went missing.... . I thought that when i overwrite from sim to phone even when the phone memory numbers is more than sim memory , its should not deleting my phone memory numbers, rite?
still frustrating over this matters, could anyone pls help or advice?

Does the sound play even when you put your phone on Silent? I don't know because I haven't run down to that low battery level for a while.

I believe it's necessary to place a number on your phone in order to adjust its Category. I have no problems assigning categories to contacts. Ensure that you are indeed selecting a contact that is on the phone.

When you select to Overwrite, it will clear off the phone's contact information and then replace it with the SIM card's information. Make sure to Merge next time. Do use Motorola Phone Tools to back up Phonebook information.
