QUOTE(prophetjul @ Aug 30 2013, 08:25 AM) Do you really read what I have written? As far as I remember, almost everyone who come into contact with you usually end up in arguments.Do you read what UW have written about me? Scriptures are for discussion. If not why bother? Are you offended because I put some rebuttals across to health and wealth 'charismatics'? Another thing: Are you trying to be sarcastic? I suggest that's rather unbecoming of a Christian. I agree that Christ is real. That's why the greatest miracle is when someone is convicted of SIN and transformed. Shalom Even the unbelievers find your post dis tasteful and you push them away thinking you're doing God a favor. I can't remember which thread but I saw it. IS THAT Christ like? |

You don't believe all the way. At most perhaps you're trying to gel reality and faith. You see people still have disease, suffering Oh Healing can't be real, it is God's will for people to suffer, etc etc. |

QUOTE(prophetjul @ Aug 30 2013, 07:37 AM) Context Context Context! Repeated. All you have given in your prosperity doctrines are PRETEXTS In case you cant see them.......... Proverbs 3 1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments You wanna obey the 613 mitzvahs to gain the blessings of the OT? The law of the OT is already done away with, not the blessings. Under the New Covenant, we can. God removed the curse of the law but no where His word mentioned He removed his blessings. It's explained in detailed in here. First We will receive the blessings of Abraham (that's 1) and the Holy Spirit (that's 2) there highlight big in case you want to say "it's only the holy spirit" rolleyes.gif Galatians 3:13-14 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us-- for it is written, "CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE "-- 14in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Romans 9:8 In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God's children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham's offspring. Romans 4:13 It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. Being an heir of the world means possessing the land. Possessing the land does not mean going to war with any country claiming a land in case you don't understand. Think carefully. |

The destruction of the temple and signs of the end times
24 Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2 ‘Do you see all these things?’ he asked. ‘Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.’ 3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. ‘Tell us,’ they said, ‘when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?’ 4 Jesus answered: ‘Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, “I am the Messiah,” and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumours of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth-pains. 9 ‘Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. 15 ‘So when you see standing in the holy place “the abomination that causes desolation,”[a] spoken of through the prophet Daniel – let the reader understand – 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. 18 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 19 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great distress, unequalled from the beginning of the world until now – and never to be equalled again. 22 ‘If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. 23 At that time if anyone says to you, “Look, here is the Messiah!” or, “There he is!” do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you in advance. 26 ‘So if anyone tells you, “There he is, out in the desert,” do not go out; or, “Here he is, in the inner rooms,” do not believe it. 27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather. 29 ‘Immediately after the distress of those days ‘“the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.”[ 30 ‘Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth[c] will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.[d] 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. 32 ‘Now learn this lesson from the fig-tree: as soon as its twigs become tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it[e] is near, right at the door. 34 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. QUOTE(prophetjul @ Aug 30 2013, 07:29 AM) Again you are referring to the power ministry of Jesus. Mark 16It has a prophetic purpose. It doesnt happen in this time and age with any prophet or preacher. The covenant with Abraham was already fulfilled through Jesus as evidenced by the Gal passage. The promise is Jesus Himself, not healings per se. You doing something similar to the Galatians...accepting some parts of the law with grace. You wanna to obey the 613 commandments which comes with the OT blessings? You cant have one without the other! The gospel is not a doctrine? Maybe that's why your hermeneutics of the scriptures is so deficient. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” |

Peter addresses the crowd
14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: ‘Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. 15 These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! 16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 ‘“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. 18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. 19 I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. 20 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. 21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”[c] 22 ‘Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. 23 This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men,[d] put him to death by nailing him to the cross. 24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. 25 David said about him: ‘“I saw the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. 26 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest in hope, 27 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, you will not let your holy one see decay. 28 You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.”[e] 29 ‘Fellow Israelites, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day. 30 But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. 31 Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay. 32 God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it. 33 Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. 34 For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said, ‘“The Lord said to my Lord: ‘Sit at my right hand 35 until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.’”[f] 36 ‘Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.’ 37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, ‘Brothers, what shall we do?’ 38 Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptised, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off – for all whom the Lord our God will call.’ 40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, ‘Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.’ 41 Those who accepted his message were baptised, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. again i found something that is worthy to say about prophetjul ignorance
Concerning spiritual gifts 12 Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. 2 You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to dumb idols. 3 Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, ‘Jesus be cursed,’ and no one can say, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ except by the Holy Spirit. 4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. 7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,[a] and to still another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines. Unity and diversity in the body 12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptised by[c] one Spirit so as to form one body – whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free – and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14 And so the body is not made up of one part but of many. 15 Now if the foot should say, ‘Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,’ it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 16 And if the ear should say, ‘Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,’ it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19 If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body. 21 The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I don’t need you!’ And the head cannot say to the feet, ‘I don’t need you!’ 22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and the parts that we think are less honourable we treat with special honour. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honour to the parts that lacked it, 25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it. 27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28 And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues[d]? Do all interpret? 31 Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. 1 Corinthians 12 1 - 27 (NIVUK) This post has been edited by De_Luffy: Aug 30 2013, 10:13 AM |

During the early Church time, spiritual gifts were powers bestowed to convince unbelievers, and to spread the gospel. It was evident when the Corinthians seem to have made a public displays of them, wanting in the spirit of piety, and of Christian love. While I agree it's mainly to build the body it does benefit outside of the body as well. Such the conviction for unbelievers. This post has been edited by unknown warrior: Aug 30 2013, 12:28 PM |

QUOTE(De_Luffy @ Aug 30 2013, 09:30 AM) Prophetjul, do not forget that the old Testament is no longer valid when Jesus laid out the new commandment........therefore do not be bound on the old yoke for Jesus has set us free from the law of old testament but with him he bring in a new covenant This is an ongoing hot debate among Christians today that people should neglect the OT since Christ already saved us when he died for our sins. Those who preach and tell people to ignore the OT are usually the ones too quick to come to conclusion and probably too young in their faith to understand the Bible carefully. Jesus himself warned his disciples about this in Matthew 5: 17-20: “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. The reason why many modern churches are ignoring the OT is because they refuse to acknowledge the ugly truth that is happening in the world today. Many of them know that if they bring out the ugly facts from the OT, many church goers will be displeased and shy away from the church. Afterall most Pastors today need make a living ya know The bigger the congregation = more $ is to be made from tithes and offerings. Apart from all that, how do you expect to trust the modern day Bible when it's been revised so many times with so many revisions and translations for these many hundreds of years? Each time people reports about irregulaties and flaws in the verses, the next revision will work towards omitting, removing and altering it to become more subtle in its words. |

Anyone here who goes to a church where they handout slips asking for your credit card details to tithe and make donations?
The encouragement to ask people to use credit cards is already sooo wrong when there are pastors whom in know in Malaysia coming from foreign countries with Dr titles having chauffer driven and living in posh bangalows in some of the most expensive districts in the capital city. |
