why not dell ips
well, currently my y580 is attached to my LG 22" FHD TV (shares with my Wii U) using VGA... i tried connect HDMI cable that i get with my WiiU, but sometimes my tv couldn't detect it and displays invalid format on the tv
any idea why?

Try replace the intel driver, I found out that Intel display audio could not detect automatically in the default driver so I update It to the Intel official latest driver...
And also the scale u need to adjust by urself.....

oh ok.... just realized my intel driver a bit outdated.... i'll try later.... dun wan to disrupt streaming la liga

yours is exactly like mine (y480, free dos, i installed my own win7 ult. ver.), but all my usb ports are working well.

My Y580 is running slower when not charging.
Like when im not charging the game will feel more laggy than when i'm charging. Anyone having this problem ?

Windows 8 .

I think the lenovo battery saver is the cause.

any advise ?

yeah... power saver mode usually clocks down stuff in your laptop to save battery.... thats why there's lag

Change ur plan to normal or Lenovo Dynamic Graphic(when gaming)...

Im on balanced mode on Energy Management and also balanced on the normal battery bar.

Need to do it manually every time when i'm gaming ?

Well the Lenovo Dynamic Graphic is the Kepler GPU boost function enabled plan, even though u din open it u also can play ur game, but open it ur GPU will be boost to 885MHz(GPU and Shader clock) instead of 745MHz(GPU and Shader clock)

But this one quite common wor. My previous machine is Dell Studio 14 also like that. Lags when not charging.

Very very lag.

BTW, why nobody can give advice? I wanna change Blu Ray drive but can it play those P disc?

yeah, i think it's normal... I have the same problem... already on High Performance profile but the real performance only comes after I plugged in the AC... so I just leave it plugged in and take out the battery...

Good news indeed... i thought they just want to prevent quick battery drain by reducing performance while on battery...

Probably can try later when I'm back at home...

yours a tricky question... bcos kinda hard to get ppl use BluRay... even the new set of y580 comes with DVD only... while my y580 got BluRay, i never tested what you asked since i dun think those thing exist in UK

BTW don't even try to play heavy game(like NFS Most Wanted 2012 etc) when using battery...
Our battery cannot give such like huge output power like power adapter

Because DVD can't really produce FHD. Blu Ray on the other hand can, so even our Y series is FHD, can't get the best out of it.
