QUOTE(kuroneko0509 @ Dec 9 2012, 03:33 PM) yours a tricky question... bcos kinda hard to get ppl use BluRay... even the new set of y580 comes with DVD only... while my y580 got BluRay, i never tested what you asked since i dun think those thing exist in UK Because DVD can't really produce FHD. Blu Ray on the other hand can, so even our Y series is FHD, can't get the best out of it. |

Any website or place for Noobs to check on SSD price?
Wanna get SSD but 128GB so expensive... And not enough.. Now using 500GB SATA, already feel not enough. |

QUOTE(hikashi @ Dec 14 2012, 09:30 PM) Hi, I didn't look at this message until I wanted to extend my warranty and found my machine is in Australia. Anyone who bought original local set Lenovo Y580/Y480 will be entitled with 2 Years warranty. You will need to send an email to ASEAN@lenovoreg.com with title "2 Years Local warranty registration MALAYSIA" With the email content with your, 1) Laptop serial number found on the laptop box i.e. CB125321562 2) Exact date of purchase of your machine in following format: Dec 14th 2012 3) A clear snapshot/scanned copy of your invoice/receipt with Retailer's Chop Lenovo will update your warranty data base from the date of your purchase instead of factory default date and, upgrade to 2 years warranty later. Below is the sample email respond from Lenovo ![]() Hope this would help fellow members here. Thanks for the info. Really helps. I guess all user of Y480 and Y580 must check your warranty online. |

QUOTE(sss2sssss @ Dec 23 2012, 02:08 AM) Off topic: now I working at one computer shop named Axaxhi, well not a good job.... I don't wanna go Low Yat to buy anything anymore. The sales person there is just for "sell" instead of explain the real function of that thing, and also they are typical "more vRAM=more powerful GPU" salesperson..... == And also the technician there got a bit arrogant, they dunno how to format a 2TB HDD, then I mention the keyword to them(GPT partiotion) and one of them start "beh song"(hokkien, sound like not like) me liao.... Sales people are arrogant, not helpful and stupid. I went to outlets there to look for internal Blu-Ray driver and 90% of outlets are so arrogant, I wonder who i actually the customer??? I can't believe it. 10 years ago, Sg Wang & Low Yat always known for bad service and Ah Beng outlets. Now still the same. I guess this urban myth still applies. 10 salesman there, 9 cannot be trusted. That 1 person also needs to see his mood. |

Need advice.
Sometimes I turn on my laptop, it went blank screen. Nothing. But you can still access the window button but just can't access those in desktop. What's the issue? Is it my rainmeter affecting it? |

I'm going to upgrade my Win 7 HB to Win 8 Pro tomorrow.
Any advice such as backup or any Y580 functions that might not able to use after change to Win 8 Pro? This post has been edited by guilt79: Dec 28 2012, 08:39 PM |

QUOTE(mrl @ Jan 1 2013, 04:00 AM) Some people dont like it... some people like it just fine... most people that I know in the end get used to the change and like it more than Win7... but some don't like it and revert back to Win7 after 30mins trying it... In my opinion, some people don't like it because it is completely different than previous windows 7 So, I would say try it yourself to see if you like it or not... maybe can get release preview to try for free... the ISO still available to use... not sure if it's still legal? so I'm not going to paste the link here, but google around you'll find it... Well... Maybe you can still use the desktop function but difference is quite huge. I found myself trying to understand the functions because in laptop is not as easy to use compared to tablet. Also, some of the features, need time to adjust. I'm currently logged into UK store, dunno why. IE took me some time understand the usage like type the address because its hidden, extra tab, in private, etc. only problem now is how to get to gutteruncensored. |
