Y580 user report in

But I feel got different between gaming in win 7 and gaming in Win 8....

the rm3799 is together with dual 650M or only single 650M?

why is it so cheap..

i'm afraid maybe cannot last long one? you know, stuff that cheap usually..

When i was on win7 i end up disabling windows update because it keeps on restarting just to install the failed update... i think it's the bloatware is the culprits... once i clean install win8, no more problem...

If you dont plan to use optical, get y500 sli... the performance is awesome!

Or else, just get y580, you'll have better performance....

I do upgrade and i'm liking it so far... what i dont like is the swipe gesture on the touchpad is using too much space on the edge and it's quite difficult to move the pointer without activating charm bar by mistake... at least that's what happened to me and i didnt find the option to adjust it

If you take a look at the sager range, it's almost similar... my friend own one sager and he likes it so far... and it was way cheaper compared to other brand at that time, and surely it's least fancy laptop around...

I thought 550M SLI has better performance than 560m, right? And Y500 body is mostly metal instead of plastic. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I check the review. Those heavy games can run under ultra setting. ( like battlefield 3, crysis ). For those Y580 users, I wanna ask, is it really playable when the fps is around 30+? Cause I personally do feel the screen is a bit jerky when the fps is 30+ compare with fps 40+

Well if u wanna play it more smoothly, set ur setting to 1366x768/1600x900

its 660m.... anyway, it depends actually... since some games got problem with SLI config....

ahh... my bad.... one thing i wanna ask since you already mentioned. Does the quality of 1366x768 same as 1080p? Since the screen size is just 15 inches. I don't think it will make any diff, except for watching HD movie of course.

I have to agree on this. Actually most of the games do have problem with SLI, and requires times for Nvidia to release the patches. I maybe just get y580m and get 670 card for my desktop. Much efficiency i think....

1080p is 1920x1080.....
well in gaming it just screen getting bigger since got more pixel....

I thought for 15inches, full screen is 1366x768??? Correct me if I'm wrong.

no... nowadays got 15 inch FHD screen.... HD screen is soo yesterday

Wow. I'm really outdated, now I'm still using Dell 1420 with 8400gs graphic card!! Its around 5 years with me already.
I checked the review, found out that the heat is quite severe for y580 especially on palm location. Am I correct?

well, for me, it is a bit warm when playing games, but i don't think it that severe in my opinion

My Y480 got a bit warm when I'm gaming those heavy game
Coz I'm setting to unless it's full power...

Hmm.. Okk.. I will go have a look at these 2 models, y580 and y500. I might just getting a decent graphic card as I'm working, and won't spend so much time on gaming laptop, but at least it can be played at a playable level.

Well GT650M can push all game to highest possible setting(except Far Cry 3 which only can all high but not extra or ultra) in 1366x768 resolution

Y580 user lipoting in! Bought mine for RM2899, FHD and 8gb 1600Mhz RAM. Thinking wanna upgrade to SSD. Any recommendations?
