hey, does anyone know how to open up a fujitsu s2020? in my previous post i mentioned that my laptop was sent for the fan repair. ok, so i paid rm120 for the labour charge and they replaced my fan. got back the laptop after 2 days. but i really only started using the laptop again 2 weeks later (i live in malacca, lazy to go back to kl to get my laptop back).

and guess what, after using it for 3 days, all of a sudden, the keyboard malfunctioned. suddenly my s, t, 7, F10, comma, back slash and a few other keys stopped working. i went into a fit of rage. my bolster and pillow flew zig zag across my room, but they keyboard was the same. i reformatted my laptop, but they keyboard was still the same. called up fujitsu and they said their engineer need to check what's wrong, and after that they'll decide whether to charge me another rm120 wacko.gif . bought a usb keyboard for rm17 to calm myself down.

so does anyone have any experience in taking apart a fujitsu s2020?

i just got a S2110. I was told that it supports S-video. Indeed there's an mini S-video port behind it.
I went around looking for the suitable adapter for it. Guess what none of the store on 2nd and 3rd floor lowyat selling that. Only the fujitsu specialist shop at ground floor has one unit.
It cost RM150 for just a small piece of wire(it's an mini s-video adapter).

check out the photo from the above link.
Anyone has any lobang to ge a cheaper third party one?

Enquired it from Micro-D. They are selling at RM 130 but out of stock currently. Fujitsu in lowyat has one unit selling at RM 150.
From U.S, it's as cheap as USD 12.

You are right, the old version of S2020 running on Athlon 2100+ can fry easily. However, after the replacement, everything should be solved.
thankyou

It happens to almost ALL Fujitsu S Series. AMD is especially hotter than Intel processors.

So far I am quite satisfy with my P series. However, I only recommand P series to those who really seldom use it as a primary workstation. Normally this unit is meant for road warriors or CEOs. Hope you get my example smile.gif
