I upgraded mine to T7200, paid about USD150 for it, you can easily find mobile CPU from ebay or any online computer store. You may try your luck on your favorite computer shop in helping you to upgrade, but of course it will void the warranty. Good luck.

haiz... u can upgrade urself... but i'm a female who's totally IT noob... T__T i dun even know how to reformat my own pc... haiz... then i will stick to my T5600 lar...

The standard version is quite cheap, I'll suggest getting the standard U2010.

Hi anyone any idea how much is S7211 and V1020 now? I am looking for fujitsu laptop with budget not more than 3k. I am quite keen on L1010 but after reading the threads here tat its from China, I have doubts.

then both S7211 n V1020 is within ur budget... since ur budget is 3k n below.. lol.. now everything is from china... ... or u can get S7111 ( my laptop... also made in japan )

S7211 is a good deal, can get for around rm2k... superb price for a laptop by fujitsu

i bought mine at RM3999 ( last year pc fair dec )

yup ... go and check it out ... but for normal usage the 7211 is a really good buy ... i thought of getting it too ... but my asus is still serving me well ...

it even comes with ori vista home basic ... so at RM1,999 its a steal ...

not forgetting its made in japan and got 3 years parts warranty ...

I have something to say about Fujitsu V1020 that i bought... It's sad that its just a month more i owned it, the back light died one day when i was watching online movie. It's totally blacked out however can still see the screen (only if u go very near to the screen to see,but its too dark without the back light).

To tell the truth I am seriously in shocked and all the while how ppl claimed it's made in Japan and how great it is. IMO, it's all the same, it depends on your luck because my friend who bought the same unit together with me don't have this problem... now it has been sent to service center for two weeks and no news for them, and the dealer even said i have to bare the cost of the labor, with which, after i check with Fujitsu themselves, it said that i shouldn't be paying anything if its under warranty.

people choose fujitsu cos of the low failure rate ...

but like u said, buying electronic items depends on luck sometime cos they r mass produced ...

but i think u shouldnt pay for a single cent if its the first year warranty ...

maybe the dealer trying to make some quick buck out of u ...

sorry to hear about ur laptop. but like ppl said... Fujitsu has low failure rate... compared to other brands like ACER...

it's kinda like jackpot. u just happen to kena strike lor... go and nego that u don't have to pay labour fees if it's STILL under 1st year warranty coz Fujitsu

1st year - international warranty ( covers parts & labour )
2nd year & 3rd year --- covers parts only.

Have you done the Online warranty registration when you first get the notebook?
The service centre might have delayed the process to verify the validity of the warranty...
It is obvious that the notebook is new and they dun have to check for warranty still available or not, but they want to verify that it is a sold unit and not stolen... thats why

Yeah the registration has been done at the moment the laptop was bought. Today i went to check and the guy told me its the problem with the cable inside and he will check with the service center again tomorrow.
well i guess am really suey (bad luck) then for am the 1% out of 10 feels like wanna scream
