QUOTE(player10 @ Mar 15 2006, 07:59 PM) erm..a question here are you coming in using SPM result for foundation or straight away into degree? FYI, foundation only approved for 5k loan from PTPTN and the fees is somewhere around 10k to 11k. You need to get the offer letter and enroll in before you can apply for loan. i plan to go MMU for further study , and i going to apply ptptn my doubt is : when ptptn approve my application ? is it after i go in mmu or b4 go in mmu ? cos if i in mmu oredi , and ptptn reject my application , then i will face many problem , financial problem Anyway, if you're within the minimum border of what PTPTN asked for, 101% you will get the loan. Cuz from what i observe, even many rich ******* can get the loan without any problem. I have no ideas, but i always "feels" that MMU got some kind of special relationship wif PTPTN. QUOTE(darkages @ Mar 15 2006, 09:21 PM) Yea, you need to be in MMU first. Yo, who told you that? As long as you're a PTPTN holder, MMU will NOT bother getting money from you anymore. Cuz the tuition fees is channel directly from PTPTN to MMU without passing through students. Anything happens about the money is only between PTPTN and MMU, nothing to do wif us anymore. But there's exception for foundation student, since PTPTN only cover 5k for foundation, MMU will hunt you down after the 5k loan is not enough to cover the tuition fees. Also, MMU will tell you that you must have enough funds to put you thru at least 2 sem without PTPTN because they wont remit the money to you straight away |

The total tuition fee for foundation is roughly RM 8k. This means that you need to fork the remaining RM 3k on your own.
Regarding the payment and relationship of PTPTN-MMU, there's one of time where students are given an option to sign an official document/agreement that allows MMU to take the disbursed money in advance and balance after the deduction of tuituon will be banked in back to students' bank account. I have chosen not to sign that document. I'm not so sure about the current disbursement method. This post has been edited by David83: Mar 18 2006, 01:45 AM |

My batch was the one which PTPTN entered directly to us before entering to MMU manually. Although it takes time for us to queue, at least we know how much money is supplied to us. The worries when PTPTN->Admin->Student is sometimes there maybe some fraud, leading to unnoticed extra money that admin took. If you took the PTPTN->Admin->Student route, make sure you followed up all the transaction involved. If PTPTN enter the money really late, we have the option to do staggered payment, whereby we need to pay the fees during next sem(if the money arrive). At least, it gives us an ample time. I don't know about some other institution then. That is why you can see a lot people always queueing up especially sem2 whereby most of us, have to go through the alternate option of filling through the form. |

QUOTE(David83 @ Mar 18 2006, 10:20 AM) During my batch, it was channelled straight to MMU account. Notice that PTPTN deals with the loan differently for different university. Then came the foolish agreement that requires students' consent. Now what? For my case, the loan is remitted to my account. Whether or not I use the money to pay for my fees is beyond PTPTN's knowledge. |

QUOTE(David83 @ Mar 18 2006, 10:20 AM) During my batch, it was channelled straight to MMU account. Actually, all along the money goes directly to MMU. until 3 - 4 years back that somebody made up this issue (SRC if not mistaken) saying that there's fraud if money is channeled to MMU directly. Then only they switch to PTPTN>Student>MMU. But then came the common problem of PTPTN - late payment. And since MMU no longer deal directly to PTPTN, they start to bar student whenever there's no payment. For rich kids who's daddy is paying actually, no problem for them since their daddy can pay and they get back the money later when the late money from PTPTN come. But for poor ones, it's a big trouble. So in order to make things right, MMU came up with the agreement. Then came the foolish agreement that requires students' consent. Now what?
