QUOTE(meedoot @ Mar 29 2013, 09:23 AM) in my opinion, china want to know how malaysia and the world (especially the U.S.)will react. if china fleet go that far and no reaction, then it will be easier for China to master the border dispute closer to the mainland. if you look at the map, the jhames shoal is also close to the Natuna Island. and if you look at the case in the past as well as the claims of china, some regions in Natuna Island also claimed by china. had several incidents between China and Indonesia in the Natuna in tha past, in the case of this SCS, Indonesia should have to be serious. but shouldn't M'sia at least sent some ships or F-18Ds to intercept the PRC's fleet? just to warn them that they're entering our territory and preventing them from going further of course..not to take them down..IMO, how about sending one submarines to watch the PRC's fleet..? once a while, resurfaced to scare the fleet, then submerged back..repeat couple of times..just to warn them PRC that M'sian Navy is watching them.. united states still looks awkward when facing china, U.S. is the biggest export market of china, and the U.S. also have a huge debt in china. if war broke out in ASEAN, true that china can not use its nuclear, because there's international agreement that countries that have nuclear is not allowed to use it to countries that have no nuclear. but without any nuclear, if joining ASEAN countries facing china, it is very difficult to deal with in the present. china military quality goods that had doubted, is no longer relevant. china've learned a lot and their military technology is getting good. and their military industry .. ran like a deer being chased tiger .. very fast .. |

SIGNS OF SUCCESS: Agreements involve contracts with Defence Ministry
DEFENCE Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi yesterday witnessed the signing of 24 agreements worth RM4.27 billion, over half of which are for the Malaysian Defence and Security Technology Park (MDSTP). The MDSTP agreements signed yesterday, worth RM2.7 billion, were memorandums of agreement (MoA) with nine companies for partnerships in the establishment and support of development activities in the park. The MoAs were signed with Artimal De System Sdn Bhd, Duromac (M) Sdn Bhd, Gem Elettronica SRI, Khadra Ventures Sdn Bhd, Selex Ex SPA, CSF Advisers Sdn Bhd, Italian Aerospace Research Centre, IDS Ignegneria Dei Sistemi SPA and Vitrociset SPA. The ministry's contracts were with: Aviation Holding Company Sukhoi, for the supply of spares, service and technical assistance for the Royal Malaysian Air Force's (RMAF) Sukhoi SU-30MKM aircraft; Rosebank Engineering Pty Ltd, for the provision of spares, maintenance, repair and overhaul services, training and technical services for the RMAF's F/A-18D Hornet and C-130 Hercules aircraft and S70 Blackhawk and Nuri helicopters; Hei Tech Padu Bhd, for enhanced training aid system for the SU-30MKM Systems School at Gong Kedak air base; UniKL Resource Sdn Bhd, for technical and engineering services for RMAF aircraft; Telekom Malaysia Bhd, for communication services for the next three years; Malaysia Airlines, for the flight movement of National Service Training Programme cadets; and, Puncak Niaga Holdings Bhd, for the research and development of a bio sand filtration system. The ministry also handed over letters of acceptance (LoA) to: Malaysia Airlines, for flight charter services between the peninsula and East Malaysia for the armed forces; BHIC Defence Techservices Sdn Bhd, for the maintenance and supply of Oerlikon 35mm cannon and Skyguard radar for the army; BHIC Aeroservices Sdn Bhd, for in-service support for the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) Fennec helicopters; and, BHIC Bofors Sdn Bhd, for the supply and delivery of spares, maintenance and training for the Bofors 57mm and 40mm/L70 guns for RMN. The agreements involved supplies and services worth more than RM548 million. An MoA was also signed appointing the Association of Marine Industries of Malaysia (AMIM) as industry lead body for the shipbuilding and shiprepair sector. AMIM then signed a memorandum of understanding with UniKL Sdn Bhd to develop shipbuilding and shiprepair industry training. MDSTP also signed two MoUs with Bonetti Aircraft Supports SPA and Universita Degli Studi di Genova and Universiti Teknologi Mara -- for partnerships similar to the nine MoAs the former had earlier signed. The final MoU, worth RM1 billion, was between the Pahang state government and Aerotree Defence Services Sdn Bhd for the development of the Pahang International Aviation Park in Kuantan. Turks Order Turkish Made UAVs
March 26, 2013 : Turkey recently completed acceptance tests (130 sorties) for its new Anka UAV, and production is to begin on the first order of 30 aircraft (ten systems) for the Turkish Air Force. Each Anka system consists of three UAVs plus ground control equipment and all necessary maintenance and ground operations gear. Looking very similar to the American Predator, the Anka is a 1.6 ton aircraft propelled by a rear facing propeller. Payload is 200 kg (440 pounds) and endurance is 24 hours, and Anka can operate up to 200 kilometers from its controller. Max altitude is 7,900 meters (26,000 feet). A UAV like this would sell for over $2 million each. The Turkish military is to receive its first Anka by the end of the year. Four months ago Turkey found its first export customer for Anka, with Egypt ordering ten. First deliveries will be in two years. Turkey is already working on a larger (four ton) Anka that can carry missiles or a lot more reconnaissance equipment. Another Turkish firm made its first export sale (to Qatar) of its Bayraktar Tactical UAV a year ago. This is a 500 kg (1,100 pound) aircraft with a 40 kg (88 pound) payload and an endurance of 14 hours. It enters service in Turkey this year. The price for ten Bayraktars Tactical UAVs sold to Qatar was reported to be $25 million. There is also a Bayraktar Mini UAV which is a 4.6 kg (9.9 pound) aircraft that is battery powered and hand launched. Endurance is 60 minutes and the Bayraktar can operate up to 15 kilometers from the operator. The Turkish Army has been using the Bayraktar Mini for the last six years. Turkey's economy has been booming during the last decade, as a new government made good on its pledge to crack down on the corruption that had long crippled the economy. As the economy grew the government sought to make Turkey more self-sufficient in military equipment, and UAVs are considered part of this program. Sources : http://strategypage.com |

QUOTE(yinchet @ Mar 29 2013, 03:33 AM) you think he did not send? Malaysia always deal these kind issue behind the scene. my guess is the new China leader want to show force of power. QUOTE It is not only China's relationship with Japan that is becoming complicated, the report said, with Beijing's ostensible strategic partner Russia also becoming wary of its neighbour's rising power. Apparently, even the Russians also begin to be wary of China ald.Despite Xi Jinping choosing to take his first foreign trip as China's president to Russia for a summit with his counterpart Vladimir Putin, the "Russo-Chinese strategic partnership is more complex than it appears", the study said. "An equal relationship can hardly be maintained with China's GDP at more than four times Russia's," it added, saying that the imbalance was leading Moscow to shore up previously fragile relations with Japan. "At recent bilateral summit meetings and foreign ministerial conferences between Russia and Japan, Moscow has persistently requested that Tokyo cooperate in security matters, particularly maritime security," the study said. "Recognition that China's maritime activities on the high seas will expand in a northerly direction in the near future is a factor motivating Russia to seek cooperation with Japan and the United States." QUOTE Malaysian Prime Minister is Interested PAK FA Langkawi (RIA Novosti) - Malaysian Prime Minister was interested in the Russian fifth generation fighter T-50 (PAK FA), said Air Force Commander Viktor Bondarev at the air show LIMA -2013. "Development Program for the PAK FA is underway. Yesterday met with Malaysian Prime Minister - he was very interested in the aircraft," - said the commander in chief. Answering the question of when the PAK FA to be delivered to the Russian Army, Bondarev said: "As you know, these new machines are now actively being tested, and in 2016 the first aircraft expected to begin flowing to the troops." Earlier this Airshow deputy director of "Rosoboronexport" Victor Komardin said Royal Malaysian Air Force would be inappropriate to adopt and buy a Russian fifth-generation fighter, but Moscow will continue to advance in this country modernized versions of the Su-30 MKM. sosej |
