Just want to share my experience with illgear. I've bought a illgear RS-15 with some customization. In term of discount..I think I do get a lot..got a rm300 rebate, upgrade from 750GB to 1TB, upgrade on processor (from 17-3610 to i7-3720).

At the beginning I also worried about sending up the laptop via courier. So pick it up myself at Johor. They are pretty considerate since they wait me up until around 11pm or so.

After a while my laptop got a problem. I forward my problem to the illgear support team and trust me their respond is fast. So I sent it out to them in Johor via courier. It took them around 1 week or so to repair it since it is a major problem. They change my motherboard and graphic  card and I still got a valid warranty. They sent out my laptop via airpak courier in box full of padding.

All in all I do like their service. They are willing to explain everything and their respond is also fast (In my experience, if I compare to some shops, it would take them about a month or so to repair problems even simple problem like windows problem.yes..maybe they got a lot of laptop/computers to fix and that is where illgear is at advantage. They concentrate at their product so minimize time.)

If you are looking at customization laptop I would suggest Illgear compare to shops for sure.

p/s: i'm not paid by illgear to say all this I'm one of their valid customer.

Their sales support team really efficient, almost reply every email instantly..

Anyway do any of your laptop has HDMI input like the Alienware M17X?

now im on alienware, next if still keen for game laptop would be illegear

Yeah, seems like a lot of AW users jumped ship to Sager notebooks too haha~
Probably because of the cheaper price and also easier accessibility 

Maybe also because Alienware has not update the design (the look I mean) for generations  (a bit of exaggeration  )

am i still able to order sager notebooks instead of Illegear pre-customized laptops?

But we actually found that a lot of professionals need plain and simple laptops, while the younger generation prefer something fancy.

Anyway Prince J, just wondering... since you have already introduced the Illegear models, wouldn't that compete with the Sager models you were originally selling?

I thought you are 20+ only, no?

There is no competition, ours are apparently better, in terms of pricing, quality, and warranty.

Let me explain in details, e.g.

1. we use Kingston RAM (lifetime warranty) and Western Digital hdd (5 year warranty). Which means that you are still covered by local HDD warranty even if your illegear warranty has expired.
Sager is using Patriot/ Samsung RAM, Seagate HDD, which doesn't come with any local warranty. Even so, illegear is still helping customers to claim warranty from Sager, but taken longer time frame (2 to 4 weeks).

2. Every ILLEGEAR machine is tested in manufacturer's factory, and tested again by our engineers using 48 hour burn-in test. The failure rate is the least in this industry.

3. Effective services. Take one example, we can go the customer's house (Johor and Singapore) to do repair.

Second this  I always think the gaming laptop that I will feel most comfortable bringing into a corp world is the Asus G series. Hell, with the rubbery / charcoal look, if I do a bit of disguise, maybe can pass it off as a Thinkpad

1. Although RAM seldom spoils, it is good to know that there is warranty coverage for the HDD by you guys (it is often very hard for users to send the HDD in ourselves), and possibly the SSD (if customized)?

3. You should come and stay in KL/PJ haha, many customers here would love to have your on-site service
