Holy molly.. So many Hobbit sets.  rclxub.gif I am seriously curious how much it cost you to buy and ship these sets all the way here from Germany. I wonder if it will actually be CHEAPER than waiting for our local distro and LLM to bring them all here. Really tempted to try out bricklink....

I too noticed the sudden surge in the number of posts in this thread. It is as if all the Lego fans started coming out from their Lego vaults to post.

Anyway, some Lego Shell pictures. The new Shell Lego sets have some interesting pieces to modify my old Town sets.

Even old town sets would LOVE to try out V-power

From the mid 80s? No problem!

The original Shell F1 racer is no match for the new Shell Ferrari F1 racer. Printed parts is a million times better than stickers.

u started collecting lego since 30 years ago?
thumbup.gif was poor when i was small...only playing those cheapo imitation bricks...lego bricks is a far far away dream

u got an awesome collection notworthy.gif

i think i still have 5% of this set bricks  first released close to ~30 years ago! OMG!
*
cool stuff u got there thumbup.gif

QUOTE(sherwin @ Dec 6 2012, 07:33 PM)
Definitely still works out cheaper than local retail by about 40-45%, even after factoring shipping and taxes.
Dont think I've bought anything locally for quite some time.

The estimated RRP for Hobbits once it hits our shores would be about RM 399 for Unexpected Gathering, RM 499 for Goblin Battle. Not buying those prices here..
*
if u dont me asking... u bought it from which website? lego europe? they willing to ship here?

QUOTE(paanjang16 @ Dec 6 2012, 08:41 PM)
Well, comparing the price for the big sets like the police station on Lego Shop At home US website, you can see that:
1) City police station - US 99.99. Local price RM 549.90
2) Dino Defence HQ - US 99.99. Local price RM 549.90
3) Jabba's Palace - US 119.99.Local price RM 800+
4) The Malevolence - US 119.99. Local price RM 600+
.. did I mentioned got FREE DELIVERY, FREE CHRISTMAS SET too?

The biggest rip-off is the Jabba's Palace IMHO. On Lego Shop at home it is THE SAME PRICE as the Malevolance!

Luckily I do not buy Star Wars otherwise it is really an expensive hobby.
*
i m collecting starwars piece...
i think the current starwars price will go up...since disney bought over lucas film...

Thanks anyways guys.

QUOTE(alister88 @ Dec 6 2012, 06:11 PM)
yeah, the series set. I got only 2 at the moment but dunno wanna collect all or not.. hmm..
the older series are darn expensive!
And not all figs are nice unfortunately.. :/

having 2nd thoughts... my priority would be complete my Avengers/Marvel sets 1st.. hmm...
Then was thinking LOTR as well. Maybe just the 9 main characters and maybe also all the Hobbits.

Too many to collect! Ninja Turtle coming soon...

People should wait for the promo to end then only sell mah... so those who missed the promo can buy.

Now they are hoping for desperate buyers that have gone to 2~3 shells and came home empty handed. lol

Just my tiny little opinion, no offense to any sellers =X

My dad had this stash of Lego hidden in the house for a very very long time. He bought it for my brother but then my brother didn't really bother taking care of them so my dad decided to keep them safe! He put them all in a box and he forgot about it until I started to show an interest in Lego after collecting the CMFs.

Hi sherwin, how many percent will our custom tax for toys? Also was thinking on whether wanna get technic set (unimog) from brick link. Doesn't differ much if it's taxed. Can get locally for 700+

Other AFOLs, any other alternative for technics?
*
10% tax for toys if the merchandise + shipping exceeds RM500.

QUOTE(leonhang @ Dec 6 2012, 11:21 PM)

Mainly BrickLink, in particular sellers from Europe as you get savings from the VAT reduction and reasonable shipping rates.

Some other merchants which ship direct are Barnes & Noble - bn.com, US$12.95 for first item, 4.95 for subsequent item. BN takes longer to arrive, 4-6 weeks and box condition isnt guaranteed. The larger sets arent too bad but it must be listed as From BN.com and not the third party sellers.

TheHut.com - a UK site also ships Lego directly, for only 0.99p and takes ages to arrive.

Amazon.com occasionally ships some sets directly, but this one is really main tikam. On one day a set may ship internationally, the next it may not. Some that will ship now are Helms Deep, Super Star Destroyer, Imperial Shuttle & Death Star. Must be listed as "Ships and sold by Amazon.com" and not third party sellers.
