Hi Guys,

I just built a new rig in Fractal Define R5 casing. It comes fitted with two 140mm fans which has less airflow.

I have been a big fan of Arctic F12 fans previously. Now that nobody is selling in msia, do you think its worth to order it from overseas or are there equally better silent fans with better airflow? theme is black and white.

Please advise.

never used ID cooling before but I tested both bitfenix spectre and spectre pro and they seem to be quite weak when pushing against resistance

i have tested aerocool shark fan without restriction, the wind is quite strong. no idea about the airflow with restriction though. if 120mm, I strongly recommend the CM Jetflo!! the fan is the strongest I have tested

Sickle flow are worth to consider, cheap, quiet and deliver decent air flow.

Guys, i'm using Fractal R5 case and just using stock fan which is 120mm (back) 140mm (front).

Thinking to change

- 140mm x 2 (front)
- 140mm x 1 (back)
- 140mm x 2 (top)

How about this brand?

Noiseblocker NB-BlackSilentFan XK2 140mm x 25mm Ultra Quiet Fan - 1100 RPM - 21 dBA

I removed my CPU cooler, Silverstone AR03's fan to 2 Sickleflow Xs and it is not noisy.
It is only 19dBA, can transfer good amount of flow and best is rm22-27 only for 1 fan.

I only tried ID cooling fan with removable rings though. So far it is decent but the rings is a bit flimsy.
I suggest u get the ID cooling ones. seems the review at newegg are favorable.
ID cooling
Anyways if u still undecided u can try buy one first and test it by mounting it as top exhaust because some FDB/hydro bearing fans don't like to be installed horizontally.

hmmm, just fill it with all aerocool DS white. looks great with black/white.
seems like a good fan but I doubt about fitting those fans as top exhaust because of it so called advanced sleeve bearing. If what they meant of advanced sleeve bearing is FDB then I see no problem fitting it horizontally.

U could invest on a fan controller or 7V adapter to reduce the fan speed hence reduce the noise.

Mine are put on CPU cooler, GPU so far so good with original fan.
When the fans are clean, my AMD can have thermal margin of 48°C and typical temperature at 42°C without air cond.

feel awkward when my gpu temp < cpu temp laugh.gif laugh.gif . planning to use 3rd party cpu cooler but i think it will block the exhaust fan to suck out the gpu heat. unsure.gif unsure.gif unsure.gif

Well, CPU cooler air flow should be blowing toward the rear exhaust fan while GPU cooler should be going to the sides.
