I got two arctic f12 pwm fans, can anyone teach me how to correctly connect these fans together and make the PWM functions work so that my Smart Fan in the MoBo can work correctly where reaching certain temp the fan will trigger faster speed...And how to enable the speed reading of these both fans? thx, helpers biggrin.gif

I recently bought a cooler master blademaster xtraflo 120mm. It has 4 pin and i connected it to the 3 pin at the mobo. It seems to be spinning so slow. The min RPM is 900 & max is 2200. I cannot control the speed at all using any software because it didnt detect the fan. It only detects my front chasis fan and cpu fan. Can someone teach me how to increase the fan speed?

looks like a faulty header bro, it should come with a molex to 3-pin converter right?? run it on that for max speed wink.gif
***WARNING*** Running a 2200rpm fan in full speed will generate a hell lot of noise

connect 1st fan to 4-pin header on mobo
Connect 2nd fan to the 4 pin header that leads out from the 1st fan
Connect the yellow wire from the 1st fan to a 3-pin header to mobo
Connect the yellow wire from the 2nd fan to the 4 pin header that leads out from the 2nd fan
Done

Where to get that molex to 3-pin converter? Someone told me that if i connect the 4 pin to 3 pin i camt control the speed and it will only run at max. But it looks like it only run at minumum speed.

Molex to 3-pin usually came with fan package. Any 3-pin fan header at mobo can't be control by any software. You have to use dedicated fan controller for it.

Other option is buy 4-pin PWM splitter & share with CPU fan header. So your casing fan will follow CPU PWM signal.

lol BTW have you tried plugging it into a different header?? just to check if the fan is faulty or the 3-pin header is faulty

What do u mean by different header? btw, a fan with 3 pin is btter than 4 pin or the other way around?

Fan with 4-pin have PWM function, which mean the speed can be control through mobo.
Fan with 3-pin doesn't, to control it's speed need fan controller.

For temp, it doesnt help much.
For looking, maybe Bitfenix spectre fans or other better looking fans.

I agree to this.. but the HAF-X should be a rather cooling chassis

The idle temp at around 40°C is normal with stock cooler.
