Guys, can give me some recommendation for 120 mm case fans? Need intake fans really badly. Because my case original fans had the 3 pin connector with the 'lock' thingy on the side and can't fit to my motherboard 4 pin connector.
*
huh? the pins should fit, no matter if it's a 4-pin or a 3-pin header on the mobo, even a 4-pin PWM fan may be connected to a 3-pin header on a motherboard

anyway if you're still looking for fans, consider getting these. Depending on your budget, you may wanna skip a few.

-Xigmatek 120mm series
-BitFenix Spectre (Pro/non-pro) 120mm
-Artic F12 120mm
-Silverstone 120mm
-Antec truequiet 120mm
-Noctua NF-F12 120mm

Erm, there's something like a latch at the fan connector. This makes the connector wider and makes it unable to fit to the header.  It's hard to explain. Hmm.. Anyways, thanks for the recommendations.
*
if explaining is hard then try taking a picture smile.gif

does it look something like this??

any fan connected to a fan controller will be good lolz

adrenc94 you could look into these for chassis fans, they gradually gets more expensive;

Artic F12,
BitFenix Spectre series,
Silverstone Ap or Fn series,
Antec true quiet,
Noctua NF-F12,
BeQuiet! silent wings,
Scythe Gentle Typhoon,
Corsair AF series

I actually don't own it, haha  sweat.gif

Just copy pasting from google, lol
*
lol I see well if you're really comparing paper-specs then the Artic F12 will surely win, rated at 74 CFM pushes 125.7 m3/h at 1400rpm with whisper quiet FDB bearings wink.gif

RM25 to Rm35 depending on where you get it from wink.gif

but not everyone will buy simply because the specs are good as some may not like the look of the F12 or the colour or because it has no LEDs wink.gif

Not sure if u have already bought the fans but here goes. He's from Sarawak btw.

San ace fans
*
Great fans actually, they're renowned to be noisy though, people who uses them usually have a fan controller or a silent chassis to deal with that issue

any side effects to painting fan blades? i seemed to have quite a thick layer hmm.gif
[attachmentid=3634098] *Xigmatek XAF 120s

i should have bought two different color and mix-n-matched
[attachmentid=3634114] *Bitfenix Spectre Pro 140s
*
well... there shouldn't be any problems actually, you can try sanding them down with high-grit sandpaper to lessen the paint hmm.gif

hehe those interchangeable inner/outer frames are really useful right? not that I can say the same for the LED versions though tongue.gif

Hi, what do you guys think of the x-five case fans? Flow master and polar bear?
*
truthfully? not very flashy and untested tongue.gif if you happen to buy one or two I think you'll be the first to see its performance, X-five is afterall not a renowned name in cooling

budget would be about 200 + - smile.gif
*
looks like you simply want to mount fans for no apparent reasons tongue.gif healthy budget though

well if that's the case you could never go wrong with these I suppose,

BitFenix Spectre pro 120mm - available in LED (3 colours) or non LED RM40+
Aerocool Shark 120mm - available in LED (3 colours) or non LED RM30+
Artic F12 120mm - non LED RM25+
Xigmatek 120mm - lotsa series, available in multiple coloured blades RM25+
Silverstone 120mm - normally Blue LEDs but they have lots of series as well RM30+
Noiseblocker 120mm - lotsa series, non LED RM60+

thanks yar dude sad.gif unfortunately, the casing I order at my local store,I go to pick it up and found out it was cooler master scout 2 (without advanced) should I take it for RM300 or take corsair 300R for RM270? I like the design of scout 2 but it is not advanced version, does it matter?
*
IINM the scout II and scout II Adv only differs in the number of 2.5" drive bays and color selection only.... they share the same structure, size and weight

but no matter the chassis, 120mm fan is standard size for fan mounts

I would suggest enermax TB Appolish for the bling2 look at the front & sides. As for top, TB Appolish or TB silence would suffice.

Enermax TB Appolish

I never handled the spectre pro before but IINM the on/off toggle switch is exclusive for CM fans only.
*
+1, Enermax fans have really good lighting system

and yes, CM chassis have very different connectors for their LED on/off switches and fans so BitFenix Spectre pros will not work

thanks for the suggestion bro smile.gif would think of it smile.gif

which CM fans? smile.gif I would like to fully utilize the on/off toggle sad.gif
*
not sure if it's available anywhere, so far CM fans that have the on/off ability are the ones seen that comes with the chassis.. but their official website listed them as on/off 120mm fan....

actually tell you what, it's still using a dual pin for the on/off switch, what you will find on the scout II is a female connector which is the same one that are on BitFenix's fans.. thats why they don't fit if you could get someone to mod either connector to a dual pin male then it should work... test it out with staples and see wink.gif good luck bro

Currently I got 8 units of CM Sickleflow right now, seriously the noise is a bit killing. Bought 6 units of AC F12, tried them running full speed and I can hear noise as well. Need more than F12's performance.
*
Artic F12 run at 1400rpm max speed so they're audible but should be a lot quieter than the CM Sickleflows at the same speed... if you want quieter but higher performance fans then you have narrowed your options to the likes of Noiseblockers, Corsair SP series and Scythe GT... you'd have to dig deep into your pockets though sweat.gif

I think noctuas are the better ones compared to corsair. The only problem with noctua is the color of their fans. sweat.gif
*
price / performance wise, I'd go with the Noctua fans, Corsair fans cost a bomb in comparison

GT are always expensive, Helix is a new entry so they have to give some leeway in terms of pricing but I believe the performance should not be that far compared to the GT

Hi, where can I find 135mm case fan. I need to replace my PSU fan. :/ Help please, and if anyone can find one, can I get a price range. Thanks.
*
IINM 135mm fan is referring to the diameter of the fan but the fan size with the frame is 140mm, so any 140mm fan may fit, best way to find out is to take apart the fan from the PSU and bring to the shops to compare the size... should be quite inexpensive

Aerocool Shark seems like a good one, can get one for around rm30(include shipping). it uses fluid dynamic bearing, from what they said it's better than sleeve bearing and ball bearing.

QUOTE(sonixmedia @ Nov 11 2013, 09:59 PM)
Ok guys..need some pointers... Now I have many fans installed and I get decent 2-5 C drop in temp.... my configurations are as below:-
1) CPU fan push pull setup 2 Arctic cooling F12 fan chain connect to CPU_Fan header
2) Case fan back side CM fan come with my Hyper 212 cooler connect to CPU_Opt Fan Header.
3) Case fan front come with the CM USP 100 case connect to Case_fan header.
4) Case fan side 2 Arctic Cooling F12 fan and Bottom 1 CM standard fan all chain connected to case_fan 2 header.
My question is...  hmm.gif
So with all these 7 fans connect to motherboard will it stress the motherboard too much and shorten its life and is it necessary to invest on a fan controller?

Thanks  smile.gif
*
Fans require little power so no worries about them eating up wattage, adding a fan controller will not help in terms of power draw, but they do provide you the control over the speed of the fans at all times wink.gif
