In the midst of modding stuff, made this tonight  yawn.gif
Will be using this ProlimaTech slim 140mm fan to blow GPU backplate.
Custom made acrylic bracket to secure on expansion slot back cover,
custom made acrylic "fins" to be edge lit with LED strip just for decoration purpose.

Hi all, I need some recommendation for 140mm led fans for my case. I'm using these fans as exhaust fan.
*
if it's exhaust fans, look for one that has the highest CFM will do, can give the CM jetFlo a try or if you want a quieter option maybe a BitFenix Spectre or Corsair AF140... all have LEDs

QUOTE(djlah @ Jun 29 2014, 11:32 AM)
Hi all, I need some 180mm PWM fan recommendation to replace my SilverStone AP181, which is original bundled 3 units intake fan at bottom of RV02E.
*
180mm fans are hard to find.. let alone PWM... most big fans in the market are 200mm and above.. why would you wanna replace the Air penetrators??

and where can find the dust filter for 8cm, 12cm fan?icon_question.gif
*
Well AC 8cm was in the market a while back but it has been missing for a long time... no idea where u can get a new one.. but there are generic 8cm fans around LYP that's easy to find... as for dust filters, try looking in the garrage sale section

im using Artic F12 currently but i wanna add extra fan, but problem is now cannot find ppl selling sad.gif anyone know any alternative to those fan? similar performance and noise..
*
Artic F12 are rare because everyone is buying them, they sold out once they hit the shelves a few months back but now I totally don't hear ppl talking about them anymore

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Aug 20 2014, 12:21 PM)
I'm looking at the Enermax Magma Advanced for the front intake fans. Anyone has a personal experience with it?

Another question is that the number of colours is not stated but what I can see is that there are 2: orange and red. Am I right?

I'm going for a red themed rig so I hope the colour scheme is the standard red lol
*
it should be two different editions as each only has either red or orange LEDs... not too sure what is standard to you but red is red to me lolz

so wat are the alternative that i shud be looking at? those noiseblock m12 series so exp, gentle typhoon also sad.gif
*
are you looking to mount on a CPU cooler / RAD or chassis intake / exhaust?

I'd recommend you getting 120mm fans from BitFenix or NZXT for chassis fans since they have the white/black design to them as chassis fans

for CPU cooler or RADs I'd recommend something like the Noctua NF-F12 PWM which are pretty sweet for the performance despite the hefty pricetag.. and if you don't like the colour, you can opt for the Redux line (which cost less) or the IndustrialPPC models (Warning: premium product) as well

my casing N200 comes with 2 fan. if i buy another fan which have a higher airflow, it be exhaust or intake ?
*
I would use it an an intake wink.gif so that dust will only accumulate near the intake as opposed to the shole chassis becoming a vacuum cleaner

QUOTE(chaics85 @ Oct 24 2014, 06:10 PM)
guys.. help...
currently using corsair 230t and on negative airflow (2xfront in, 1xbottom in, 1xback and 1x top out). notice quite alot of dust accumulate near the cooler.
now thinking to change the fans on top to 2 static pressure fans as in flow (140mm) and 2 front in flow SP fans too (120mm) to make it into positive airflow.

any suggestions?

was looking at CM jetflo specs (heard a lot of good things about this fan), on 12v, it produces 90+ air flow. what about when connecting 5v adapter?? how's the airflow? prefer a silent pc.
*
erm.. assuming that the fans are all the same type inside your chassis, it's a positive flow... instead of buying fans, I suggest removing the bottom intake and see if that's any better....

Jetflo fans are not quiet..... go for something like the Noctua or Noiseblockers wink.gif especially for the CPU coolers

QUOTE(mambangafro @ Nov 1 2014, 03:14 PM)
what is the largest diameter pc case fan that i can get in Malaysia?
*
230mm wink.gif BitFenix has them..

not too sure of NZXT and CM storm...200mm for sure but 230mm have to ask

I'm thinking about getting a Cooler Master N200 and sticking a Corsair AF120 Quiet Edition as the front intake fan, coupling that with a Silverstone FF123 fan filter (any alternatives?). Only problem is that it has LEDs and I do not want my computer lighting up like a Christmas tree. What other choices do I have? Looking for something that's also quiet and in the same price range (lower price range accepted too of course).

IINM Corsair's AF series has non-LED versions

QUOTE(Devil7801 @ Dec 1 2014, 01:38 PM)
Guys, recently I purchased Corsair 350D, now thinking about putting some fans at front bay..I am looking for 140mm fans, the obvious choice is Corsair AF140, but any other suggestions?I want red coloured one, either LED or non LED to suit my black/red theme build..

And one more thing, I believe Corsair 350D front intake is quite restricted, so am I better off with static pressure fan, or normal airflow fan should do it?

Thanks..
*
normal fans should suffice, the idea is to draw more air in instead of forcing air through tight gaps.. but if you can get good SP and Air flow why not?

QUOTE(marfccy @ Dec 4 2014, 04:06 AM)
hey guys ive been asking this for quite awhile and so far there is no definite answer sweat.gif

which would be better?

3x120mm or 2x140mm?

theoretically, 140mm push more air, but have lower static pressure.. while 120 have higher static pressure but lower CFM

any ideas?
*
Actually you have to check.. some 140mm do have high static pressure rating like the TY141 from Thermalright or SP140 from Corsair, what is your intended application for these fans?? rads?

is it only me that fans nowdays cost alot of money..gosh

the most interesting i've seen now is Noiseblocker eloop series but very expensive

can't make up my mind what fan to buy to use as intake fan
*
well actually fans are at that price for a long time, it all depends on what you're looking for, there are still RM10 fans around but for most of us here in this thread, we're likely to be looking at better fans to suit different needs wink.gif

Anyone can tell where I can buy a couple of inexpensive 15mm thick case fans?
*
inexpensive.... very rare have 15mm fans.. I only know Idealtech carry prolimatech ones that are 15mm but not too sure if you would call them inexpensive

QUOTE(bandit94822 @ Jan 21 2015, 07:56 PM)
looking for some silent blue led 120mm case fan... any recommendations?
*
Just pick a normal transparent blue LED fan will do, these are normally quiet because they don't push a lot of air... normally for decorative purposes tongue.gif

If you want a good one, I recommend the Spectre Pro from BitFenix, loks great, silent but... it's RM59 for a 120mm haha

but howT.T

no molex..

need buy the splitter?

anyway i was actually eye-ing on this:

aerocool shark fan
http://www.aerocool.us/accessory/shark_r12.html

compare this 2 type fan, is it worth the money to get the aerocool 1? for the CFM and air pressure.
*
erm.. you will get a molex to 3-pin adaptor when you buy the fan, it's included inside the package the last time I bought mine.. else, you could just buy them separately, it's quite cheap, or you could ask if anyone had any spares tongue.gif

Both fans CM and Aerocool are okay in my books, just see which one you rather have, CFM and Air pressure rating may be inaccurate at times

QUOTE(Sotsotzaii @ Jul 27 2015, 10:38 PM)
Hi, I'm on SLI with 2 gtx 970 so naturally my gpu and processor gets really hot at like 65c while playing heavy duty game with high end graphics. I guess that's because I don't have enough fans, can anyone verify that ?

2ndly, I plan to get 3-4 fans first, what fans should I get ? Which fan is good ? I try not to go for expensive fans, reasonable and good ones will do, thank you!
*
So you're saying that your system during gaming is at 65c? thats a great temperature actually, considering that you're running on Sli config adding extra fans might lower down it further but not much.

There are other things to consider as well such as your room temperature, I mean think abt it, if your room is hot, then you're drawing in hot air as well smile.gif so placing your PC in a good and airy spot will definitely help with your temps aside from adding fans..

Having said that though, it is better to invest in a good quality fan, ones that don't fail you every few months
here are some that are trustworthy in my books
BitFenix Spectre Pros - solid and good looking, performance is not bad
Cooler Master jetflo - may be slightly loud but good airflow
Cooler Master silencio - only available with their AIO unfortunately
Artic F12 - very rare nowadays
Noctua - all grades, all varieties except LED but 6 years warranty and damn good fans

Following sue_cinta's question, if it's 3x120mm bitfenix spectre pro against 2x140mm bitfenix spectre pro, which one of the 2 configurations will be better for front intake without radiator? In case you need to know, I'm using Corsair Air 540 for my case, and both the 120mm and 140mm mentioned above are just the pro, without pwm because I intend to leave them at full blast anyways as noise is not a concern for me.
*
since they're the same fans, I'd take the 140mm any day if I have choice like you, basically they tend to be quieter while pushing at least the same amount of air

Enermax fans are okay, do go for the 140mm, really recommend because of the quieter operation
