QUOTE(wKkaY @ Nov 25 2013, 11:28 PM) I'm currently using a Cooler Master Silencio 450 with stock 120mm x 800rpm front and rear fans. assuming that the Artic F12 PWM is always running at max speed of 1400rpm, I think you will see some improvements but not by much, all you will be doing is to speed up the air flowing inside the chassis after all and you did upgrade to a more powerful GPU didn't you? and it'll be probably get toasty if you changed from a blower type to a downdraft type cooler for your GPUI recently upgraded my GPU and I'm wondering if switching to the Arctic F12 PWM fans would be an upgrade, or whether there's no difference? |

QUOTE(wKkaY @ Nov 26 2013, 11:07 AM) Both my previous and current cards are downdraft, but Max TDP has increased from 80W to 230W. haha well it's limited what changing fans can do to help, but expelling the hot air faster should be your priority so a higher CFM fan will help in a way.. the silencio series isn't one for airflow is another downside In BF4 my GPU is at about 50% load, 50% fan speed, 70C. I worry that it will run hotter when I upgrade to a 120Hz monitor. So I'm proactively looking for ways to cool it. The rear exhaust fan pushes out a trickle of air, and yes it does feel toasty |

QUOTE(XeMoAsLaM91 @ Dec 4 2013, 09:29 PM) instead of making BIg 12cmx12cm holes to put fans instead can i just drills Alot of small holes for fan circulation. You can, why not? but do take note that having just holes will block some airflow to the fan, unless there is little gap between your drilled holes.I'd suggest that you just cut a hole and get a fan grill, you can get the basic ones like these for about RM8 in LYP ![]() or you could make one like this out of arcylic... or aluminium if you have milling machine ![]() |

QUOTE(wKkaY @ Dec 6 2013, 02:37 AM) Ok so I swapped the fans and did some cleanup of my cables... and in my excitement forgot to take "before" measurements that's quite an improvement actually, maybe not so much on temps but noise levels must be down quite a lot already I think? I compared the difference between running fan at 800rpm and 1400rpm, at 40% GPU load. The GPU temp lowered from 59C to 56C, and GPU fan lowered from 1800rpm to 1600rpm. I also learned that the Gigabyte mobo I have is terrible for controlling PWM fans, so I resorted to using SpeedFan. |

QUOTE(AlanSiew @ Dec 29 2013, 12:08 PM) Halo Sifu! Does any fan like SilverStone AP123 can recommend? Saw it in Viewnet sometime back, but they haven't brought back the AP series since it ran out of stock... maybe getting from ebay?QUOTE(imagepower @ Dec 31 2013, 02:00 AM) Hi Expert Bros! Temps seems normal to me, no cause to worry, so long as you have air movement flowing in from one direction and complement the exhaust in the same direction your fan setup is just fine regardless of how many exhaust you have as that's the most optimal... unless you mod the chassis I've just bought a CM HAF XB casing (completely fell in love with it) and installed Maximus 6 Hero, 4670k i5, Asus R9 280x DCU II GPU... It's my first time DIY and self taught from YouTube videos and reading magazines. What I need to understand is have anyone here moderately mod this casing and successfully made an absolute cooling setup. Currently I'm using Seidon 240 with 2xPush Gentle Typhoon 120mm with rear casing stock Seidon fans (since its there so just bolt on and use) ...2x Noctua RF 8 80mm silent casing fans for under carriage exhaust. Core temp at 34 c but 26c with air con condition Mobo temp at 30c but 22c with air con Are these good temps? I only could fit one side of the seidon as push pull configuration as the other side...well the Asus R9 280x is too long to fit another pull. So i was fulling around with it by installing a Noctua NF-F14 140mm to see if I could boost the CFM that is written on the box is 115.2 What I'm trying to figure out is ...am I doing the right thing? Oh...The top cover is the window type not the mesh with 200mm fan type. Pls help! adding a high CFM fan will help in a way but don't expect much drop from the temps |

QUOTE(ntw @ Jan 3 2014, 07:28 PM) so fans for HSF and for RAD are different? i thought fans for both HSF and RAD should come with higher static pressure due to resistance in the fins; whereas case fan (pull air into or push air out of the casing) should have higher CFM to move large volume of air yes higher static pressure is better for HSF and RAD mounts to push cool air through the tight spaces of the finsrequesting advice Clem1982 for chassis fans, CFM plays a bigger role, you move more air, you move move more heat |

QUOTE(aahazim @ Jan 18 2014, 12:38 AM) guys, i want to ask. which one is better n quieter fans?? noiseblock xlp or aerocool shark. both are 12cm fan. i plan to put it on my HR-03 Plus. got forumer here selling it cheap. Aerocool shark isn't really a HSF fan, the NB fans should be better, but the price may be very exp... try looking at Corsair's SP series or Scythe GT as well |

QUOTE(aahazim @ Jan 21 2014, 03:51 PM) owh. ic. how bout the corsair sp series? is it worth? lol Cm sickleflows are much too loud in my experience Corsair SP series are kinda pricey but I saw somewhere that they're very good as radiator / HSF fans |

QUOTE(ronron @ Feb 10 2014, 11:44 PM) Hi all master, I am looking for 2pcs 120mm intake fans for my Scout 2 casing. any suggestion? budget around <RM30 for per pcs. as Kherel77 said, The BitFenix Spectres are almost identical to the CM sickleflows, but just beware that the blades on both the Sickleflow and the Spectres are hard to clean compared to wide-bladed Spectre-Pros I have tried the CM sickle flow X 120mm LED fan and it's too loud at 2000rpm and it's not suitable for me. I would prefer low noice with cool led fan like Sickle flow X. currently looking at Enermax T.B Silence LED series 120mm 1200rpm. Any other choices besides this? Thanks. |

QUOTE(ronron @ Feb 11 2014, 11:01 AM) thanks for suggestion. it's true that the Spectres are rated at 1K RPM, if you want faster fans then it is not really for you, even the Spectre pro are rated at only 1200rpm.. bitfenix had them such a way so that the fans will be quiet.. hence the name "spectre" the speed of Bitfenix Spectres LED is 1000±10% rpm, will it spinning slow? because my stock fan also spinning around 1k rpm which seems slow for me. sorry still learning about it having said that though, if the components are not overheating, any fans shouldn't be much difference so long as you dissipate the hot air out of the chassis |

QUOTE(ronron @ Feb 11 2014, 01:24 PM) I see, thanks for the explanation. learned alot. forgot to mention that you should look at CFM rating of the fans but not to trust them completely more CFM means that the push more air I think I will go for the Spectre LED, Spectre pro is over budget. btw shifu, can give some opinion on my CM storm scout 2 casing fan position? it can mount 2 pcs intake front, 2pcs side panel, 2 pcs top, and 1 pcs back (exhaust). is side panel intake needed too? thanks again my preference of fan placement is simple, front intake with top and back exhaust, I usually will leave the side panel blank even if it has fan mounts but it does help with the GPU temperature somewhat if you use it as an intake. Mind you that most doesn't come filtered so it'll attract more dust |

QUOTE(ntw @ Feb 12 2014, 12:16 AM) i strongly recommend the bitfenix spectre pro 140mm tuned down to 800rpm using speedfan. before this i was running it at stock 1200rpm which moves a lot of air but also kinda noisy (whooshing sound of the air) thats a given as they push a lot of air, just look at their CFM rating... mind you that I find them to be quieter than the Artic F12 |
