Hi all master, I am looking for 2pcs 120mm intake fans for my Scout 2 casing. any suggestion? budget around <RM30 for per pcs.

I have tried the CM sickle flow X 120mm LED fan and it's too loud at 2000rpm and it's not suitable for me.
I would prefer low noice with cool led fan like Sickle flow X. currently looking at Enermax T.B Silence LED series 120mm 1200rpm. Any other choices besides this?

Thanks.

Same design with SickleFlow is Bitfenix Spectre LED but it using Fluid Dynamic Bearing that make it more silence & durable.

as Kherel77 said, The BitFenix Spectres are almost identical to the CM sickleflows, but just beware that the blades on both the Sickleflow and the Spectres are hard to clean compared to wide-bladed Spectre-Pros wink.gif

thanks for suggestion.

the speed of Bitfenix Spectres LED is 1000±10% rpm, will it spinning slow? because my stock fan also spinning around 1k rpm which seems slow for me. rclxub.gif

sorry still learning about it unsure.gif

it's true that the Spectres are rated at 1K RPM, if you want faster fans then it is not really for you, even the Spectre pro are rated at only 1200rpm.. bitfenix had them such a way so that the fans will be quiet.. hence the name "spectre" wink.gif

having said that though, if the components are not overheating, any fans shouldn't be much difference so long as you dissipate the hot air out of the chassis wink.gif you won't see too much drop in temps by changing chassis fans

I see, thanks for the explanation. learned alot.
I think I will go for the Spectre LED, Spectre pro is over budget.

btw shifu, can give some opinion on my CM storm scout 2 casing fan position? it can mount 2 pcs intake front, 2pcs side panel, 2 pcs top, and 1 pcs back (exhaust).
is side panel intake needed too?

thanks again notworthy.gif

forgot to mention that you should look at CFM rating of the fans but not to trust them completely more CFM means that the push more air wink.gif

my preference of fan placement is simple, front intake with top and back exhaust, I usually will leave the side panel blank even if it has fan mounts but it does help with the GPU temperature somewhat if you use it as an intake. Mind you that most doesn't come filtered so it'll attract more dust

Recommend me fan which is 14cm + silent vs high cfm ratio + low power usage for 24/7.
No need LED blink blink.

If possible, fan can get locally icon_rolleyes.gif

i strongly recommend the bitfenix spectre pro 140mm tuned down to 800rpm using speedfan. before this i was running it at stock 1200rpm which moves a lot of air but also kinda noisy (whooshing sound of the air)

thats a given as they push a lot of air, just look at their CFM rating... mind you that I find them to be quieter than the Artic F12 wink.gif

SO, basically the intake & exhaust fan are the same fan?
*
Same fan.

You see, when the fan blows one side, the other side is sucking air in.

Depending on how you install your fans, if it's set to blow into the case then it's intake fans. If you turn in the other way to blow out of the case then it's exhaust.

1500rpm fans hardly generate that much heat to begin with, must be your other components that are the culprit here

i see their fans behind got many plastic lines, it would be kinda difficult to clean dust using a paint brush.

well depends on your noise resistance... to me full speed at 2200rpm is just loud tongue.gif

actually there's not much dust on those frame. normally the dust will build up on the fan blades which are wide enough to clean.

when i got it frm APES, it was rm40 a piece moneyflies.gif

yeah, dust build up on fan, but the thing is, if you want to clean behind, those many little plastic frames will be obstructing the brush from cleaning, but you can clean the front easily but not the back. laugh.gif

i'll ask them for the price on fb

I have bought the Bitfenix Spectre LED 120mm and installed as my front intake fans. so cool man, the LED looks good and brighter. most importantly, it's truely a Silence fan. Now I can a sleep well at night with PC on.

Spectre 140mm are about Rm40 while Spectre pro 140mm are about Rm59, well the frame do kinda block the passage somewhat I suppose, they put it there to increase the rigidity of the inner frame because you can take the fan apart that way for modding purposes... LED versions are a bit tougher to do due to the LED wiring though tongue.gif

my HDD temperature maintain at 28'C flex.gif (CPUID HWMonitor), previously can rise until 35'C without intake fan. the airflow is good and blowing my HDD all the time.

The bitfenix Spectre LED didn't come with a 3-to-4pin molex connector. blink.gif
