QUOTE(ntw @ Feb 12 2014, 12:16 AM) i strongly recommend the bitfenix spectre pro 140mm tuned down to 800rpm using speedfan. before this i was running it at stock 1200rpm which moves a lot of air but also kinda noisy (whooshing sound of the air) i see their fans behind got many plastic lines, it would be kinda difficult to clean dust using a paint brush.QUOTE(Clem1982 @ Jan 22 2014, 11:36 AM) Clem1982 Currently whats the lowest price for Bitfenix Spectre Pro 140mm?Which shop selling? Digital Mall got? This post has been edited by asunakirito: Feb 12 2014, 07:31 PM |

QUOTE(ntw @ Feb 13 2014, 03:36 AM) actually there's not much dust on those frame. normally the dust will build up on the fan blades which are wide enough to clean. yeah, dust build up on fan, but the thing is, if you want to clean behind, those many little plastic frames will be obstructing the brush from cleaning, but you can clean the front easily but not the back. when i got it frm APES, it was rm40 a piece i'll ask them for the price on fb |

QUOTE(Clem1982 @ Feb 14 2014, 10:54 AM) Spectre 140mm are about Rm40 while Spectre pro 140mm are about Rm59, well the frame do kinda block the passage somewhat I suppose, they put it there to increase the rigidity of the inner frame because you can take the fan apart that way for modding purposes... LED versions are a bit tougher to do due to the LED wiring though I checked that the Spectre 140mm is pwm. How about non-pwm fans which are 140mm ? |

QUOTE(Clem1982 @ Feb 15 2014, 12:55 PM) there are Spectres 140mm and Spectre Pro 140mm that are not PWM, basically there are every version to every variety of the spectre, such as a PWM, LED, non-LED and the sizes from 120mm to 230mm.... the only question is whether if the shops have stock when you're planing to buy or not I checked for the Spectre Pro Rm40 in stock, its pwm.My fan hub no support pwm If you know any other brand apart from spectre, do let me know. |

Anyone knows where i can purchase Noiseblocker?
APES had a thread on that but does not seem to be selling 140mm BlackSilentPro PK-3. That package has the "Vibration-free installation without tools" looks better and hassle free compared to most fans out there that uses screws or rubber grommets (which i hate the most). QUOTE(ronron @ Feb 14 2014, 09:57 AM) I have bought the Bitfenix Spectre LED 120mm and installed as my front intake fans. so cool man, the LED looks good and brighter. most importantly, it's truely a Silence fan. Now I can a sleep well at night with PC on. You could grab Enermax T.B. Vegas Trio. Has better airflow, got 3 color and multiple lightning styles. And easy to clean with detachable blades.[attachmentid=3851939] I'm not sure why many recommends Bitfenix fans but based on my experience, its difficult to clean. I owned several fans such as Enermax, Noctua, Fractal and Coolermaster, and found it easier to clean with Enermax detachable fans. |

QUOTE(AlanSiew @ Feb 16 2014, 05:00 PM) Malaysia can find the Enermax Cluster Advance fan? I also prefer can clean the detachable fan wing Not sure for Enermax Cluster, I have 2 Cluster 120mm, tried on mine, it won't come out. Don't dare to put too much force in it otherwise spoil.http://www.enermax.com/home.php?fn=eng/pro...4&lv1=68&no=221 I also have Enermax Magma 120mm, that 1 easily come out compared to Cluster. Use very little effort to pop in and out. I'm currently thinking of getting 3 140mm Enermax T.B Silence (Turbine instead of Batwing). But could not get much info on it, whether its pwm or non-pwm. Not much review/benchmark for this fan. |

Tried NOiseBlocker, much louder than Noctua, not recommended. If you have fan controller, can use NoiseBlocker to lower rpm around 1000+/-. But the performance delivered in terms of airflow and static pressure is still lower than Noctua. Also to take into account, most fans out there takes more watt/power compared to Noctua (e.g. NF-A14 FLX uses 0.06amps at 12v = 0.72watt. Bitfenix takes almost triple of this, NoiseBlocker at full rpm is 4.5watt (similarly to a HDD power consumption.)
The only limitation I can see with Noctua is oil leakage, since they use oil to reduce friction between the fan blade pillar and the housing of the bearing, there is a risk of leaking oil. I had 1 NF-P14 in my Noctua NH-D14 leak oil, but the 12cm NF-P12 did not have this issue. I had Enermax fans which I used for like 4 years, and does not have this issue. If only Enermax had reduce their power usage similarly to Noctua, I would buy them instead since its much more friendly to clean with their patented pop-out fan blade. QUOTE(kherel77 @ Feb 28 2015, 01:56 AM) Which one more suitable for DIY home/media server that run 24/7? I would recommend you to go for Noctua fans although they are a bit pricey.Mainly to cool 4 HDD. Using casing Elite 343. ![]() My goal is lower the HDD temp & quieter server. Currently using AC F12 PWM+SST-FF123 filter run full speed 1350rpm, average temp between 35-39C & not so silent (humming sound-maybe cause by intake fan grill). The candidate: Silverstone SST-AP123 ![]() Or Noctua NF-P12 ![]() Both advertised as superior with tight intake fan grill, but need opinion from real life experience.... Thanks guys... But they have 6 years warranty for their product. There is once where once where my Noctua P14 had an oil leak (still under warranty). I send them a notice and they shipped me a free unit (took about 2 weeks to arrive). Regarding the PC case, I would recommend you to get Fractal Design Define (Not the Arc version) computer case. I own one and I can tell you its super quiet. I can't even tell if its running unless I feel the air exhausting out of the case or seeing the Power LED light. There are in the range of RM300-400 but its worth every penny. It can hold lots of SSD/HDD too (more than 4). If you are going for this case, you will not need to buy 3rd party custom fans as the stock ones from Fractal Design is super quiet too! QUOTE(benbenhor @ Mar 1 2015, 07:46 PM) hi guys..planning to get a cooler master n400 and get 2-3 fans with it (if possible 4)..looking for no LED light fans for around RM15-20 (rm25/fan if really necessary, but between 15-20 would be best)..preferably 12cm ones and will be used on the top and side..something not too noisy, the quieter the better (silent best!) but keeping the pc cool is most important..was earlier recommended to get the CM sickle flow but wanna know if there's any other suggestions..thanks! Usually fans that are RM20 and below spoil kinda fast or make weird noise.I purchased a few Cooler Master fans approximately RM20 each and after a year it made weird noise when spinning. Then I got some Enermax Magma 12cm fans, priced around RM39 (after using 3 years and it still working like new). And the fan blade can be removed for easier cleaning! If you have budget, you can look for Noctua fans as they are super silent and they use half power consumption compared to all the fans out there. But it cost around RM60+ |

QUOTE(Devil7801 @ Dec 1 2014, 01:38 PM) Guys, recently I purchased Corsair 350D, now thinking about putting some fans at front bay..I am looking for 140mm fans, the obvious choice is Corsair AF140, but any other suggestions?I want red coloured one, either LED or non LED to suit my black/red theme build.. Enermax TB Vegas 14cm fans will be quite good (it has red / blue LED lighting) and has different flashing pattern. And one more thing, I believe Corsair 350D front intake is quite restricted, so am I better off with static pressure fan, or normal airflow fan should do it? Thanks.. If you are pushing air into constricted areas like heatsink or HDD bays, go for static pressure fan. Exhausting hot air from case can use air flow fans. |
