My also same..in 3rd year now.everytime ask them check the 12v battery the answer is always ok.

But I do doubt on the checking. The 12v battery always connected to ima battery. When they use the battery checker n apply the load on 12v battery, the ima battery wont help to supply power to 12v during that time?

after i reset the ima battery via remove the +ve and -ve at 12v battery. now the car back like normal biggrin.gif
after the reset, when the car start it will start with empty lvl of ima battery, i continue rev the car over 2.5k rpm to charge the ima until it get full. then no more problem...

hi,
and recommendation which HID kit to use? brand model spec price....
*
regarding HID, personal experience if u willing to spend then get a original and branded one. ignore those 100-200 plus although they say is top quality. i get mine ~RM130, installed it and with one night drive then i already remove and install back the halogen bulb. after sometime, i force myself to use it again and after 2 months i also go back to halogen. the one i get is 4300k. i was comparing with my dad K5 HID. you may say i comparing apple and banana, but if the HID is not better than halogen then y waste money to upgrade it???

QUOTE(RickRock @ Sep 6 2013, 10:51 AM)
Anyone encounter alarm problem?

My insight recently alarm on and off gila.

Normal park car, shut down engine, enable alarm, after awhile(less than 1 minutes) will suddenly siren.

1. Try unlock, lock again. After awhile(less than 1min) siren.
2. Unlock, without open car door. Timeout, will automatic lock. Wait for a while will siren again.
3. Unlock, open and close all door including hatch and bonnet. Lock alarm. Same thing happen.
4. End up need to use key to lock. **Faint**
5. If start engine and drive a short distance, the alarm back to normal.
6. Send to SC, check everything normal. Can only reset the alarm setting. The SC say must simulate the same alarm faulty in the service center only can claim for new unit replacement.
7. After reset, not so frequent happen but still occurred.
8. The SC also mention maybe is I DIY set the alarm volumn which cause the faulty. I do not agree with him. (Anyone face the similar problem)???
*
i face this problem...until now remain unsolved...
the problem happen intermittent. Melaka SC say cant do anything because not happen in there. Even i record in video n show them they also say cant help. do u check the small LED to see the error?it blink 8 times for my case. this is how mine happen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItLY3llQH4g

after this i send my car to Muar SC. they kind enough to help me debug and the problem also happen there. So far they replace the cobra unit (claim) but problem still happen. then they take my siren n the control unit to cobra for diagnostic but cobra say no problem rclxub.gif Muar SC now ask me send back my car during weekday n they will install back n do further investigation. But i still no time for this because need to on leave and busy at the moment.

in case the problem still no solve, i will ask them just remove the siren n cobra unit. currently at least i still can use my remote to lock the car and no need worry the siren will suddenly make noise by itself.

fyi, they also suspect i turn on the buzzer n cause the problem. basically bullshit from my point of view because is a feature of the alarm. and many members here also enable the buzzer but so far only 2 of us having the problem...but at least i know i am not alone la...actually at melaka also got one insight facing same problem, the car was leave at SC for 2 weeks n nothing being done.

But if is 12v battery causing the problem, will have other problem as well, but mine other all work fine just the alarm issue. Some more mine just 6months old.

nothing to do with the 12v battery...if u found ur IMA battery always discharge itself after overnight then maybe is the 12v battery.

mine alarm also has problem around 1 year and until today 2 years+ my 12v battery still strong (check by SC) but the alarm still got problem.

RickRock

i get my cobra system installed back on my last service. The problem still could not be identify. SC say the cobra has check the control unit and it working fine.

yesterday i decide to disconnect the alarm myself to have peace of mind so that it wont trigger the alarm itself. Out of my surprise, the siren still working when ppl open the door when the car is armed.

the functions that is not available as below:
- when lock the car, indicator wont notice if there is door not close properly
- in car volumetric sensor no longer function
- no more security code by pass in case ur remote is out of batt (i think need to disconnect the alarm if this happen)

i think basically what left is just the siren still functioning.

saw this item from ebay amplifier amp interface

this item, from the design it create a RCA without cutting the original wiring. but then it only good if plan to power a woofer only.

if we modify this n tap the output from the amp to the current wiring to speaker, do u think the original wiring can support the high power from the amp? let say we look for 50watt rms only. what do u think?

I think is nothing to do with first 3 years full sync engine oil. It should be after 3 years the car already out of warranty. Even u no go back services also out of their biz already...

i just change mine to 185/60R15 2 weeks ago.
first tank just finish but then hardly to be a benchmark because the FC is very bad due to a lot of idle waiting when send my son to school.

personally i feel the handing still ok (maybe i dont really drive fast), comfort level definitely increase a lot, pick up improve a lot n feel like driving with econ mode off although is turn on.

So good news or bad?
*
if there is a lot part share with jazz hybrid local then the impact is not that big...

if not, then mean less ppl will buy the car due to high price or honda dont want bring in anymore. then this make the local market dont want to create OEM spare part and force us to use import part from honda japan that is very expensive...

QUOTE(dc_hunter @ Jan 20 2014, 05:14 PM)
maintenance memang expensive.... insight uses NGK iridium spark plug. somemore 8 of them.
this is the part number. DILFR6F11G

go and ask around how much it cost for each...

Wow! Side mirror RM1400?!
*
ya...whole set of it...
but if not damage badly actually can order small part.
my one was bang ppl side mirror in high speed, so the gear in motor is broken, side mirror crack, signal cover break ...etc
so it more cheaper to order full set...

heard the vios fordable with signal also not cheap...

wa... looks like rear absorber issue is a common problem for our insight...
*
yes..i also think so..
my one both spoiled around 30k km

and everytime go back sc do service (every 5k or 3 months), they say they do so many inspection but no one find out the absorber already leaking...
it was spot when i do tyre rotation outside from SC. the tyre shop ppl told me then only know this problem.
worst case is went back SC, they give 100 reasons that is normal and that is anti rust oil.

at the end i go other SC at muar instead of melaka one, they straight help me claim both of it (my case was both also leak at the same time)

same to my cobra alarm system, until now it unsolved. Muar SC at least got help me debug and send the whole unit back to cobra but it was show ok at there but somehow not working in my car. at the end, i disconnect the alarm module.

i think is referring to when the car stop production...then spare part price will raise.

since no more new car into the market, then 3rd party also no interest to create OEM part.

so at the end, the maintenance cost for the car is getting higher

Hi,

Anyone having IMA battery problems?
I got my Insight on May 2011. Problem started around May 2013.
I can see that mine is having a problem but no fault signal is showing and Service Center is saying no problem for the past 5 service appointments.
Perhaps the instrument panel showing the IMA battery drain too fast when the car senses a hill and starts charging while going up the hill and defeats the fuel saving concept. So, my point being, it could be just a computer glitch or the actual physical IMA battery draining it's power? sad.gif
*
same issue here...mine is 2011 july
what u can do to temp solve the problem is to reset the car by taking off the 12v battery for 10-15mins. after that start ur car and let it idle at N for 15min without turn on the air con. the coming week u will feel ur car like new but then the problem will come back again.

what i do now is turn off the econ mode because it really hard to drive when the ima battery is flat and econ mode turn on. and it keep on charge the battery because it get flat in a very short distance or high rev... rclxub.gif

coming service i will request them to check on this and also check is there any software update. Looking at oversea forum, there at least 3 updates on CVT, IMA and one i forget already.
