guys...why insight total maintenance costs (based on honda malaysia website) is more expensive than honda civic hybrid...ie. RM 8K plus vs RM 5k plus

Yeah...i think this year end would be the last batch for Honda Insight
Without the tax exemption, I doubt Honda would be continue selling this model in Malaysia
On the bright side of it, possibly you may get huge discounts for stock clearance

The negative side is that the spare parts and maintenance would be expensive due to low demand

Some SC let you nego which item need to be done or not... plus our Insight was 5k interval compared to civic 10k interval

Using K&N air filter... Save air filter cost... Just for an example... Maybe otai cay give more example...

Insights were made in Japan and their manual clearly stated that the service is every 10 or 12km (can't remember) unless driven under sever condition. Severe condition means 50% of journey under traffic jam or above 35 celcius. My car hardly touches 4000km in 6 months and not in traffic.

Armed myself with the official manual and spoke to the SC and they agreed with 5000km or 6 months. I think we all should petition to Ministry of trade for the rip off by our car industry.

Any idea what type of maintenance the hybrid system such as the IPU need? If none is needed, then I think is ok to service outside after warranty end..

By right the hybrid component in all hybrid car including those from honda and toyota are completely maintenance free. What we service is the non hybrid parts like the engine, brake, suspension and fuel system, just like regular non hybrid car. Even the components and material used are not muh different from regular non hybrid.

So why the service charge is high, that question must ask jonda or toyota, but I speculate that it is due to hybrid is rare and the companies had invested a lot in setting to and training to service these type of car, so they have to recover their investment.

If like this, most prob I will service outside once my warranty end... No point service at SC if hybrid system no nid maintenance..

I just worry hybrid systems and components only... Not the battery, as this is affordable...

But why is it Insight has the highest maintenance cost among all Honda hybrid range?

Hi guys, my Insight has it's driver seat's window breached by robber and my 2 phones has been stolen. Now the problem is, should I buy the Original Window, or just get the China Made?
The price as below:
(i) Original- RM673 after discount
(ii) China Made - RM150

What's the major differences between Ori & China Made? Would you spend that much such a side window?

Ori and China difference.

1) Ori have Honda Logo. China doesn't.
2) Glass color difference. UV coating on Ori ?
3) Glass material .

China glass also can use.. so it is only up to your preferences.

Hi Babysmile~~ thanks~ I heard one of my friend said it does have Local Made(Malaysia), which is better than Made in CN and even TW... it cost RM250. Worth it??

I doesn't know the material... You need to see the difference already...

Mostly we need to see is the color , material are quite similiar, acceptable then you are good to go.
