QUOTE(JinLeon @ Dec 26 2012, 01:48 AM) I wish I could, btw Mi501 and BP2 which one will be nicer if compare the signal and watching video, which one is better? Mi501 has better signal because Snapdragon S4 proc. MTK6577 has terrible signal. As for watching videos, BP 2 is better because smaller screen = better ppi. QUOTE(JJKTP @ Dec 26 2012, 01:53 AM) Other than Black Pearl 2, you could also opt for Huawei G600. Officially sold in Malaysia at RRP of RM799 but some seller even sell it at RM688. Take your pick. Huawei G600 is RM799? Wasn't it RM899? But it is awesome! Although not as great as my coming JiaYu G3. This post has been edited by Cranky guy: Dec 26 2012, 01:59 AM

Yes, JiaYu G3 has much bigger battery and personally, I have no problem with JiaYu having MTK6577 as a processor.

If they launch it earlier, I might get myself the G3. But now, with MTK6589 production chip already in the manufacturers hands, I might as well wait. That said, G3 seems like a good phone. But with that price? It is just GREAT!!!

Got a hands on with Huawei G600 earlier. When I swiped the screen, I noticed that while it was really smooth, Mercury just felt smoother. But the difference was barely noticeable. The screen on the Huawei is really good, colours were vibrant and not oversaturated. However, the screen is kind of far from the glass, so I didn't actually feel like I was touching the screen. Antutu score was 6720, slightly less than Mercury, but still beats LG Optimus 2X. Camera performance is really good too. The speakers however, were not loud enough. When calling people, it was hard to hear the person on the other side because the speaker wasn't loud enough. Back speaker was good though. Most games that work on Mercury work on the G600. Overall, I would say this is a great phone, and if anyone were to want a cheap android with a good screen and performance, I would definitely recommend this phone. Although I still feel that overall, Mercury just feels better. I will also be comparing the G600 to my JiaYu G3 that is coming soon, so stay tuned!

QUOTE(Cranky guy @ Dec 26 2012, 02:03 AM) Yes, agree with you there. And not just that. By having a 4.5" IPS dual-core S4 in a form of Huawei G600 gunning for the price of RM680, it will surely keep others (CSL, 9tology, ZTE etc) from jackup their prices as they pleased.

FYI, any benchmark that have screen resolution in the equation will certainly favour against Huawei G600 as its screen resolution is higher than Mi501. It is qHD vs WVGA. Anyway, for RM680 this Huawei G600 certainly make Mi501 and Stealth 2 seem expensive. The brand alone already add to the weight. This post has been edited by JJKTP: Dec 26 2012, 06:54 AM

Mercury still has some tricks that will keep it going. Namely, it's dual sim capability, it's 5 inch screen, the rumored Jelly Bean update that is currently in testing stages, the good build quality and the general smoothness of everything. While 9tology Stealth 2 is almost the same , RM899 is a bit overkill, and it's so laggy.

Capitalism at work, I would say. But if the user don't need dual-sim phone then Huawei Ascend G600 priced at RM680 is a no brainer.
