Campro IAFM has no CPS. Campro CPS has VIM instead of IAFM.

So Campro IAFM module does not kick in at 4k RPM, it adjusts the intake manifold length at 2.3k to 3k RPM depending on load, which influences vacuum. At other RPM, IAFM is not required.

Talking about IAFM, yesterday i remove the engine cover and look for the noise source. I can clearly heard the noise is coming from IAFM, but the sound not 'tok tok tok tok', nor 'tik tik tik tik', but is 'tek tek tek tek'...When i close my door and hear inside the cabin, two type of noise heard, 'tik tik tik tik and tok tok tok tok'...WTF...and sometimes the 'tek tek tek' noise will disappear for few seconds, and then when compressor kick in, the whole engine vibrate awhile, the noise is back... rclxub.gif

Tonight i will try to post the video clip i recorded yesterday.

So actually, to say IAFM "kicks in" is a misnomer, as the IAFM is constantly working. The so-called "kicks-in" is when the runners are switched from long to short at 4.4k RPM.

After driving CVT car for more than a year, driving back a car with dinasour 4 speed AT definitely feels.... weird. lol

Last time, I will never feel anything during the gear shifts up or down. Now, I can feel every single of it. I noticed conventional auto has an annoying habit of bringing the rev up a bit before shift up, which makes the car jerks.

Just wonder how it 'switched'?? by vacumm @ certain speed which is 4400rpm?

About 'kick-in' we as a user won't notice it, the torque curve tell the truth, no sudden of torque/hp increase after 4400rpm.

According to wikipedia, it's controlled by vacuum hmm.gif

Yea the switch is supposed to be transparent to the driver.
