hi guys, going for my 15k service.... however my dad insists that i service outside.... but my car STILL has that tak tak tak rhythmic knocking.... so i should take it back to proton and have it replaced right ? .... one question.... is the warranty for one year ? coz one year already passed.... they replaced the brakes for me after the 10k service however after around 12k, the rhythmic knocking s back....

how much cheaper is it to service outside ? isnt the engine oil prices same everywhere ? agak.... only the labour charges are different rite ? tongue.gif tongue.gif

much appreciated if u guys take the time to help me !

Standard warranty is 2 years or 50k KM which ever come first. If want to claim spare parts, better go CoSE at shah alam

Not familiar with Plotong t&c regarding warranty, but it should be 3 years for engine/transmission.

Service outside, you get to choose what engine oil you want to use. Price in Plotong ady marked up. If you get it from spare part shop, probably cheaper. I know some of the members here oso prefer to purchase engine oil from TESCO since got promotion price. Normally, oil change bawah pokok member price RM5, non member price RM10. If got shop, service slightly expansive. Member price RM10, non member price from RM25 onwards whistling.gif

So, the rest I leave it for others to comment lar

hi guys, wanna ask how frequent shud i service my car...bought my car september 2011..since then, underwent 4 services at 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 9 months..my car is mostly low mileage as i only use it back and forth for work and after 1 year still below 10k..according to the booklet stated shud be every 6 months or 10k service. But the service centre still give me appointment for every 3 months. Should i follow the schedule given by the service centre or should i go service 6 monthly?? thanks

If ur is FLX CVT, better go back Proton service la.

Me just old BLM manual kosong spec,

1. Only front 2 power windows, rear mechanical type forever never die, so just give up warranty.
2. Manual, unless down shift to 1st gear @ 110km/h, else i dun think i need warranty for gearbox.
3. No airbag, no need warranty.
4. ABS (Aku Brake Sendiri), no worry, no need warranty.
5. IAFM? Probably the only thing i worry about, but i give up warranty also.

So after 15k i started service bawah pokok, save at least RM50-70 labour fees for each minor service and few hundreds for major service compare to Proton SC.
Those thing like spark plug, brake oil, gearbox oil, power steering oil, all can extend, not like Proton SC, have to change @ recommended interval for warranty.

So total i can save alot.

Ya ho, since i save alot from that last time, so now i shouldn't worry about the problem that i faced now, be it starter, IAFM, or fuel pump, come on. flex.gif

Drumbrake only 1 year warranty if i'm not mistaken. Brake cylinder already got issue since Plotong Gabby back in 2005. There's cheaper but unknown quality ones, I have not able to find the better ones besides of the already well known problem original Plotong. Cost is around RM80 include installation/bleed/brake tuning at Teoh Brothers Kemuning Toyo Tyres blink.gif
