Either way, the Citibank Marketing Dept has confirmed I didn't get the 30% Cash Back for GPD Campaign..... bye bye Citibank

If it is due to purchasing vouchers at Aeon with different code, try pursuing further. I successfully file a dispute with Maybank.

this is the last cycle/week for that 30% rebate CB or RM150.

Anybody in here hit the RM500 purchase today? I tried my luck again today, previously gave up from 5th week onwards after noticing my 4th week TNB pay online delayed by 2 days.

Got RM145.64 from my first attempt at 3rd week- fullfilled the criterion on Day 1 ie 27.4.13. That energised me up to try again this week.

citibank replied me to confirm my name was not in their list for the 30% cashback ... they further said it was on first come first serve basis - NO guarantee ...

fortunately i just tried for the first week and not fall for it by participating continuously ... otherwise would have lost the 5% guaranteed cashback from ocbc instead ... citibank sucks smile.gif

TNB bill payment do not entitled for 30%. I cannot see the reason stop you to continue becos of TNB bill payment delay.
*
Yes i know TNB bill does not earn 30% CB but TNB bills does add up the total spend to above RM500 to make you qualify early on first day of the week.

Once you qualify on Day 1, the subsequent grocery/petrol/dining purchase even on the last day of the week, will add up to earn your 30% CB till the max.

ok like this:

On first day of the week you purchase pizza RM40, petrol RM30(tank full already with this), and grocery RM100 so total RM170. You dont have so many things to buy on the 3 categories to hit RM500.So how?

Pay the balance RM330 with TNB bill online, you hit the target and qualify straight away on day 1 of the week, better chance to get CB.

But then 30% rebate there is only RM170 x 30% = RM51.00

But you want to max it to RM150. Next few days, your petrol tank empties, pump in more, grocery promotion comes, go buy more till you hit RM500 for the 3 categories..........

That is the role of the TNB bill - help you qualify first.

Unless the time of the day you qualify matters?

but according to citibank website, it seems only the day matters, so doesnt matter one qualifies at 8.00Am or 8.00pm as long as it is on saturday first day of the week, you are on equal standing assuming the total expenses of the whole week you stand equal with the rest.

here is another benefit if you add in the TNB bills , so instead of total spend RM500, my total including the bills not earning the 30%CB will be higher than if i were to spend only on the 3 categories.

If many qualify same on first day, those with higher total weekly spend will get the CB first.

Posting Date is very important.

Criteria to get the 30% (in order which I think it works)
1. Spend RM500
2. Early Posting date of the transactions
3. Total spend for the week

If (1) & (2) meets the quota, then (3) is irrelevant.

i think citibank is toying with consumer's mentality ... it's like rat-race ... psychologically, citibank is hoping everyone spends like crazy even though they do not need the goods ...

just for the sake of winning 30% cashback, suddenly citibank's business skyrocket ... but it's the consumer who needs to pay at the end of the day ...

so in my personal opinion, unless it happens that you need to spend on that particular week, it's not a wise move to swipe just for the sake of (hoping) to "win" the 30% cashback, which is not a guaranteed ...

in this game, citibank is setting the rules with no transparency of who will win / lose ... so why get trapped in their game? ...

i would rather spend RM200 on necessities that i need but didn't get the 30%, rather than spend RM600 (or higher) on stuffs that i do not need but ended up paying the bill eventually just to enter the game, with no guarantee that i would get the 30% cashback in the first place ... anyway, this is just my opinion & spending habit ...

cheers ...

If the Rebate on Shell Fuel Spend earned by the Principal Card Holder meets the Minimum Rebate Amount for Redemption of $20, the Rebate on Shell Fuel Spend will be Automatically Redeemed against the Principal Card Holder’s Next Shell Fuel charges as Reflected in Your Card in the Following Month after Citibank has Processed All Transactions during the Preceding Month; or if Less than $20 It will Carry Forward, until the Rebate on Shell Fuel Spend is Accumulated to at least the Minimum Rebate Amount for Redemption, so & so.... nod.gif

I somehow think the cashback contest is kinda rigged. Rigged for what reason I don't know.

I have been using Citi, MBB and OCBC quite frequently on merchants like those 3 that I swiped, and I know their posting dates pretty well. It will be on the same day and if not, latest will be one day after (very seldom).

So I went and did a check on my cards' history and found this out. So happened on the day, my petrol tank was empty. I pumped RM 5.05 just to qualify for the Citi 30% cashback and put the pump back and pump again RM 58 tho my MBB Amex for 7.5% rebate.

The posting date for the MBB is on the same day 27th while the posting date for the Citi is on the 30th. Note: all my other qualifying transaction is on 30th as well. WHY? vmad.gif

You cannot compare with AMEX as their posting is very quick.
Posting depends on the merchant not necessary Citibank's delay.

My Shell petrol swipe on 13-Apr at 7pm was posted on the same day

Another bad of citibank, many terms& condition for every promo...
Normally I only try on guarantee promo, for those first come first serve promo, normally I won't try it as you can argue with them.. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

But I tried before on Public bank RM120 cash back with 8x swipe with min RM80. Public bank really give me even though I fulfilled the condition quite late, I thought the quota is finished. Maybe need some LUCK when participate such promo.

Maybank AMEX also not bad, last few month the 3MIllion give away is good, got the money even swipe at end of January. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif
