u cannot compare samsung with LG... noway can compete... spec powerful so what ? customer service bad . firmware update bad... smile.gif

go compete with nokia pls.
*
I would say high spec but no software to use the hardware is typically useless ... look at Iphone, atleast they have the hardware and the software that runs with its hardware ...

Non-removable battery as a BIG no no for me.

LG Nexus 4 only available in 8GB or 16GB. I don't think this phone will be that expensive

yeah... that's also another reason why I didn't buy the One X when it first came out ... prefer a removable battery so that I can change it into the 2nd battery when I'm out in the field

QUOTE(trellva @ Nov 4 2012, 06:11 PM)
the thing is the $299 and $349 price is only for the subsidized play store price. one reason Google sells it for so cheap is with the intent to recoup profits by ads and people making purchases through the play store. there are only 7 countries in which the phone can be purchased through the play store. these countries are, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Canada, UK and US. If your country doesn't have the play store, how is Google to recoup their costs.

if you live outside these 7 countries you will be at the mercy of LG... LG being a multinational corporation exists solely for the purpose of making a profit and pleasing their shareholders, so they will price their products according. One thing for sure LG will not sell the nexus 4 at anything lower than 1500RM
*
by the time nexus 4 available here, s3 price surely lower than rm1.5k..
if lg really jack up the price to above 1.5k, then all i can say is, "Samsung please take my money".. tongue.gif

I don't think the price in Malaysia will go below RM1.5k for new smart phone .. normally new launches, the retailers will sell @ RM2099 minimum for a nexus ...

unless you're saying it's a motorola brand then it's different la

exactly my point...this is Malaysia we are talking about...below 1500rm seems too good to be true...looking at the specs there is nothing that comes close to the nexus 4, i don't see retailers selling it for so cheap irrespective of the playstore price.

the only way nexus 4 will sell below 1500rm is if LG malaysia itself decides to sell it at that price, which i doubt will happen

LG has already stated it will most likely sell for €599 outside the playstore in Europe

doesn't really bother me, 2 months difference, android OS doesn't have any major changes unless my hardware is outdated

If you already have an android phone , you will surely go for Nexus aka Google Phone next time. Because you will always be the one that receive update immediately.

For those using note I think will not move to N4. Note2 is feature pack & 5.5" screen size. Real hard to move from big to small screen. N4 is a real good replacement for the normal size device.

Official price is one thing. Actual retail price is quite another. Especially if LG have any brain.

Since Malaysia lack so much of the google service.... i dont think we will get a cheap Nexus 4.... since the way they sell this gadget is by losing or break even for the hardware and earn money by providing services.

respect asus, for keeping nexus 7 price under 1k.lg is a different story,i bet in 2 years time lg will retract its smartphones from the market. shakehead.gif
*
Nexus 7 was never a high end product but this is one!
Just look at Nexus 7 display and you'll know it. It's not a piece of high end display. It's its chipset and that it's Nexus device that make its sales rolling.

Btw, LG is still Top 3 in sales figure for South Korea market. That market alone should keep it from retracting from mobile industry. At least not in South Korea laugh.gif

QUOTE(aod1984 @ Nov 4 2012, 01:42 PM)
I guess from the next edition of Nexus we will see that since Google just acquired Motorola. But Motorola, hardly reach  countries outside US.
*
Motorola? Don't you know motorola already pulled itself from most Asia countries? You can't buy a Ori Motorola in Malaysia since few months back. What they're left with is just after sales service maybe for another few years. They'll soon pull out complelely.

'presenting the newest google device the nexus 4,with 2gb ram,s4 pro chipset, and the new and revolutionary "wireless charging" ........the nexus 4 has no limits, prices starting from rm2299.' tongue.gif

on a more serious note,i hope google "advices" lg about the pricing where play store isnt avaliable.i wonder why did asus keep the nexus 7's price under 1k,eventhough they can sell it at 100% profit like lg.
*
But seriously... If N7 was priced above the current retail price, much less ppl will be buying it.
It lacks a nice display, a back camera(yea... not important but still...) and also suffering from quality issue.

QUOTE(Racerx @ Nov 4 2012, 06:17 PM)
I beg to differ, the Lumia 900 uses plastic and it feels much better in the hands compared to say,a Galaxy S3. It feels very solid and substantial yet isn't that heavy in reality compared to the S3.
*
Seriously isn't that heavy? It's 185g (IINM) and that means it's heavier than Note/Note 2

QUOTE(ibid99 @ Nov 4 2012, 06:51 PM)
May i know any big different nexus 4 with the htc x+  ??
*
One X+ Quad Core A9, 2.5DMIPS/MHz @ 1.7GHz
Nexus 4 Quad Core Krait, 3.4DMIPS/MHz @ 1.5GHz

You do the maths.

QUOTE(JJKTP @ Nov 4 2012, 07:07 PM)
At least Apple can do that.
*
And that's why their iPhone is so bloody expensive. Still expensive with a plan in Malaysia.

But you got to accept all those customization done by Samsung. If you're ok with it.

100% Agree. Only those who knows what they want will be here looking at the Nexus devices. Other ppl just won't understand how Nexus is superior to those highly advertised phone.

What kind of logic is this? It's only Nexus 7 that is supposed to be cheap to compete with Amazon. Before Nexus 7, the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S both started selling at 2.2k + -. But there're still ppl buying them. yawn.gif

Impossible RM1500 for a Quad-Core + 2GB RAM phone in malaysia for now. Other brand that has lower spec will surely death. There is always market control in pricing to protect local and oversea brand. Please don't compare with Apple product cause only apple it self is making the "i" product. Android is different from Apple. Android give its software to other BRAND to make self update and the price of cause is up to them control + shipping and market pricing cost. So there will be different for you to buy from Google and LG.
