I went to Lowyat yesterday. My intention was to grab one kerbau, whether the HP series (MIMO) or the basic one.
Since I'm there, I was also ask the price for wrt54gl. To my surprise, the price is only RM215!!!. It dropped from RM250 a few months ago to RM215. (I asked it at czone). I wonder why is the linksys AP's price drop like that? Is it because of low demand or high competition with other's brand, which lead to that trend?

Eventually, I grab one kerbau with HP series and would like to flash it with ddwrt later. The price I got was RM210. Hmm, so cheap huh.

The good thing with kerbau HP is it comes with the mounting kit. Beside of smaller than the bulky linksys, it is so cute.
It worth for your money, compared to others AP with MIMO feature.

So, wanna have a try with this kerbau? 

I'm going to look for the original firmware first. Maybe there is a WDS featured in this original firmware.

--------------
Yes it bundled with WDS which can act as repeater.

Yes the kerbau that i had bought is MIMO type (WHR-HP-G54). I think RM150 is for the normal one (WHR-G54S). That is PC fair price if not mistaken.

Below is the snapshot

The g54 with the price RM210 is the HP type one(WHR-HP-G54), with high power (transmit power maybe). But the g54s per stated is the normal one, without high power. I'm not going through flashing with ddwrt yet. Later maybe.
BTW, where can you get this kerbau at Miri?

I have to say that it supports WRT54G v7 and WRT54G v8 (even with the cool looking graph). So its worth it. Plus there are tons of new features such as connection uptime

I got myself a WHR-HP-G54, bought it at czone yesterday at rm205. Done some test the whole night, just to express my dissapointment for this MIMO router. My WHR-G54S perform better than this router in term of wireless signal and coverage. Anyway, i'll try to do some other test and will update the result here...

Added on September 17, 2007, 2:41 amdone some research at dd-wrt forum tonite and found interesting thread

so, it tells why i got bad signal with my whr-hp-g54...

i found that so many ppl bought kerbau here, its only a wireless router rite?? What about the modem?? any modem will do?
Currently I'm using Aztech 600E, plan to go into wireless. Is this modem works well with the kerbau thing?? performance wise??
SHould i buy a kerbau (wireless router only) or get a wireless modem router??
