QUOTE(cywings @ Nov 30 2006, 04:00 PM) i went lowyat last weekend to get the GL version...most of the shops not selling GL, coz out of stock.... the only shop having it is the shop which sells linksys products only... selling it for RM250 while G version going for RM200 - RM210.. no choice...i bit my tougue and bought it for RM250... felt like kena cut throat after i bought it.. but nonetheless flashed it to dd-wrt last night with not much of a problem.. if anyone would like to try your luck you could go to a shop which sells linksys product in the curve... no doubt a bit pricey but i guess u could get it there since GL is low on stock anywhere else... psst: try other computer shops in thecurve too..u might get lucky. or get it through Mika bulk

HOw? If you send it back the cost of repairing it is still unknown, getting a new adaptor should be better IMO.

Getting Started

|
About the Adapter thing I burned 2 adapter. The 1st one was the Original Linksys Adapter which is 12V 1A. The second one was a third party adapter 12V 1.2A. Now I'm Currently using one thats 12V 3A ones and its running quite cool compared to the previous ones though.

Just got my WRT54GL at LYP. Can't find any GL version at PC Fair and PC Fair promoters know nuts about GL or G version 5. Even LYP also left Compuzone and the shop i bought got this model. Get it for RM230 which quite cheap. Now waiting got free time to flash the router

I also just bought it yday from Lowyat, RM235...and I would advise not to buy it from Compuzone (I personally boycott them and all my frens did too), they put the price RM260 and RM135 for the AM3000 modem, I told them some shops are selling cheaper, like Robust network selling me the modem for RM125 but router out of stock, so I ask Czone whether can give me cheaper if I buy the modem + router together, they say fix price, ask me to go other shop buy....So I searched through every shops there, finally found one selling it, they put the price RM269, I was thinking even more expensive also won't go back to CZone, so I asked them the best price, straight away they told me RM240, bargain a bit RM235 gao dim ! Luckily I didn't buy it from CZone...ok stop here I scare I will use rude words later hehe

I've a question regarding QoS, I have already set the ports for BT, emule and etc, but for HTTP, which port u guys using ? 80 or 0-80 or what ? How bout online video streaming, ftp downloading those ? need to set as well ? or just set 0-80 or 0-1024...etc ? I flashed my GL to DD-WRT once I manage to go online with the original firmware, not even fully exploring it, but I'm just so keen to join this DD-WRT family
