Nope no pictures even on the original product site. Take a wild guess - shouldn't be too different, check out the Mocran POSH for the iPad and I'm guessing it should be about the same.

somehow the leaflet in senq site didn't mention the free casing but the senheng site got? so in consistent in their publishing

I've asked at least 2 outlets in Johor and 1 outlet in Klang Valley also still not in stock yet. Asked Asus shop at Mid Valley also doesn't have and the salesperson said probably in Jan! (there's a display unit there to test out the wifi only model if anybody's interested)

Both Senheng & SenQ's leaflets also indicated that there's a free Mocran casing.

As mention by strom88 most asus partnered shop will have stock by today?

But I ordered mine in SenHeng and they promised me that I can get my item within 1 week..

we all got it in a same batch. I think i am one of the earliest to order after they de-freezed the order taking (for Black Friday sales) last Wednesday morning. Some ordered and paid from Wednesday to Friday and all of us received it on Saturday. Caught us all by surprise that they shipping out so quickly. I was told the shipment would only shipped from Las Angeles on Thursday night by their FB rep. But on the other hand, Richard of Newegg Malaysia did tell me in the email that they have ready stock in the office. So I think Richard is right.

Hope that it is indeed that fast because i'm planning to place my order soon too.

I guess there's a slight confusion here. What me and some of the forumers here meant was Senheng/SenQ retail outlets, but not from Newegg and other means.

There is no confusion as we are talking about Newegg delivery time. Other than myself, there are a few others who ordered from Newegg got theirs on last Saturday too.

Maybe you are the one confused.

Just got my nexus 7. works great but the battery life really poor:( the drain is so fast!

New battery's life typically improves after a few fully charged and fully discharged cycles. I find the battery life not so different with Tab 7.7.

Omg. After reading the postings here about the warranty coverage, I think better summarise the situation as observed.

1. IMHO, all Nexus 7s should be covered by Asus International Warranty for all models in Malaysia. There does not seem to be any exception mentioned. See http://www.service.asus.com/#!Tablet%20Warranty/ctzm (especially for units brought in from US).

2. All parts are covered by the warranty, including the screen. As for the screen, if it cracks, then it becomes a question of did it just break by itself suddenly? Or was it user-caused (dropped, knocked, putting undue pressure on screen, etc etc)? This question is hard to determine and may be difficult to prove either way. But the problem is, most screen cracks in most devices are usually user-caused (I am not pointing my finger at anyone in particular here, mind you). So, Asus is not saying screen cracks are not covered per se, but they are indirectly saying chances are the crack was caused by the user. It wouldn't/shouldn't have cracked under "normal usage", which would be logical. Can't really blame that logic. So, unless you can prove otherwise (which would be extremely difficult), the warranty wouldn't cover user-caused damage or what the SC assesses to be so, obviously.

As for other screen defects like backlight problems, being washed out, not sensitive to touch, or detecting touches wrongly, these would definitely be covered by the warranty. I could even claim warranty for the infamous screen lifting problem with a previous unit I had, as obviously it was a manufacturing defect.

3. As for what Newegg MY is saying about having to send it back to US for warranty claims, I think they are either mis-informed or they have not expressed themselves properly. They could be talking about doing a RMA (Return Merchandise Authorisation) with Newegg US or Google, whereby you actually get a straight 1 to 1 replacement without them trying to repair it first (they won't know how to, of course). But only if you send it back within a certain period of time. If you send it to an Asus Service Centre, they won't do a straight 1 to 1 replacement for you the first time. They would try to repair it first. After having failed to repair it for like 2-3 times or like in Benny's case, they screwed up the unit further while trying to repair it, only then would they replace a new unit for you.

This is the first time charge.. 1.5 hours 25% gone. Not much done also

lol what's the big fuss about warranty? it is international, just sent one of my units to Asus and they accepted it with no questions asked.
