QUOTE(minoxidil_trade @ Nov 14 2012, 10:11 PM) Same here. I suppose it depends on stock availability in the US - might take a while since even the Play Store ran out of Nexus 7s within hours of release.QUOTE(Leon|| @ Nov 14 2012, 10:51 PM) Wait for it. Shouldn't take too long. Patience is a virtue |

QUOTE(fwhoam @ Nov 15 2012, 12:40 AM) If not for the 3G version, I wouldn't be here. Speaking of which, any news about enabling calling on the 3G version? If anyone scours xda-dev or other Android modding forums. ____ Just for some laughs... how did you go about unboxing your Nexus 7? This post has been edited by TheWandererX: Nov 15 2012, 02:15 AM |

QUOTE(redlyfs @ Nov 16 2012, 03:37 PM) Anyone tested if Kairosoft games run on 4.1? =( I tried a couple but most of them have misaligned text Ooh, a fellow Kairosoft fan eh? Which games in particular that you favour? I love those games... still play them on my outdated iPod touch 1st gen lolz. QUOTE(oryctolagus @ Nov 16 2012, 03:52 PM) my nexus 7 just arrived this afternoon.. wanna ask simple question.. can i use my galaxy s3 charger? a lil bit lazy to go buy travel adapter.. QUOTE(redlyfs @ Nov 16 2012, 10:21 PM) Oh yes. I'm definitely a Kairofan lol. They produce the most additive games lol. I remember one Sunday wasted away like nothing hooked on Game Dev. I bought all their games on iOS. Here's to hoping they'll port it properly to Android 4.1 this time =) And develop for a larger screen too. Game Dev 2 looks pretty awesome I wouldn't have said it better. Love their games, especially Game Dev/Mega Mall/Grand Prix. My tops are Hot Spring, Dungeon Village, Cafeteria. Didnt really liked Sushi Spinnery. Kinda harder than usual. The rest was alright, in the sense that all of their games is awesome but I do have my top picks. Except Sushi -.- QUOTE(cowboy_bebop @ Nov 16 2012, 10:36 PM) i watched some videos of nexus 7 (or general 7inch tablet) case with keyboard and how you would type on them and its gawddamn PAINFUL to watch Logitech Tablet Keyboard? Bigger than the Nexus 7 but certainly not to the extent that it sacrifices portability. I can see both the tablet and the keyboard getting into a messenger bag with ease. i guess a 10incher tablet case with keyboard would be ok, but a 7 would be too cramped. bringing a biga$$ btooth keyboard is kinda defeating portability at the moment, my personal usage is 90% consumption (videos/web surfing) and 10% production (evernote notes, mail) Sigh, the wait for Newegg to stock the 3G version is painfully long. Not to mention the people who import stuff in bulk from US charging exorbitant prices for the Nexus 7. (1.2k for the tablet itself only? you must be kidding) |

QUOTE(jpaq @ Nov 20 2012, 04:39 PM) Seriously, this is what I don't understand. And for some reason, even in the US, you can only get it from Google Play. No third party retail shops are selling (officially, at least). The only reason I can think of is maybe they may be planning a sort of exclusivity period for AT&T and T-Mobile to sell without contract as well later. So, at first, Google Play only. Then Google Play, AT&T and T-Mob only. Then everyone else. If this is true, then all my hopes of getting one before Christmas will be dashed. Unless, that is, we choose to buy from somewhere else, or get a relative in the US/UK to help out. That wouldn't be good - bother people & costs more in terms of shipping and custom clearance. |

Haha wow guys, chillax - we should ostracise those who LOVE using iPads to take photos just cause, but calling them names.. not cool. I cover events quite a bit, and it does get pretty damn annoying, but hey, just take a step back and laugh at these people with your friends, forget about it.
Besides, aren't we getting a little out of topic...? |

QUOTE(mtxx @ Nov 21 2012, 05:41 PM) My mom don't have smartphone. It's not wrong at all to take pics with iPad/etc. But when you get into the way of people who take photos to put food on their family's table, that's wrong. The whole point is not about tablet shooters, it's the mentality of most tablet shooters. That being said, I doubt your mom would be like that. It's usually the young teens who think flashing an iPad makes him greater than every single human on Earth.I bought her ipad3. The ipad is pretty much her only camera. That she can share to fb, check with her friends etc. Before, Hei mom, u wan ipad? It's nice. Mom: no son, it's too advance for me. I bought anyway and it's her best friend now. And she really enjoy taking pictures wit it. The ipad 3 camera is REALLY REALLY good. And you can instantly review it at the big screen. It's really a nice point and shoot for my mom. She finds the digi cam a bit confusing and slow. I don't think it's wrong or weird to use tablet for photo taking. But it does looks incredibly silly to take self portrait in public with tablet. haha. Sorry for long winded post. Kinda feel a bit but hurt because my mom is one of the annoying people in your post that snaps pics wit ipad during weddings and birthdays. I'll tell her not to get in the way of the pro photographers. ;-) sorry... |

Just in case anyone is interested and can't wait for Newegg to stock the 3G version, B&H has posted the 3G Nexus 7 for sale! 299.99, same price. Shipping = 50USD, totals to about RM1070. Don't know about whatever SIRIM/custom/duty/tax/etc that might bring along though. If anyone could enlighten me on those tax stuff that'd be cool...

QUOTE(benny888 @ Nov 22 2012, 09:46 AM) As a personal importer this is what you need Ah I see. Thanks for the detailed explanation. The courier company will inform you your package has arrived and you'll be given a copy of the notice 1. Go to nearest Sirim office , pay RM 100 for Sirim permit ( can bring up to 3 phones or tablets). Processing takes an hour usually. You need show them some docs or brochure specs of item you are applying for 2. Go back to courier and show them Sirim permit 3. If phones NO other duty/taxes. If Wifi, 3G Wifi tablets - there is a10% tax on item declared value+courier costs. Customs would want you top show the official invoice or email purchase order or any other docs to show purchased value. They will not follow seller declared value. If unable to show, custom will tax based on their evaluation on current market value of similar products 4. Pay the 10% tax and you can collect your tablet So basically total cost : RM 1070+ RM100 + RM 107 OR you pay the courier company average RM50 service charge + all the sirim + tax costs If you are lucky ( i was once only) DHL directly delivered to my house without any hold up - that was for a mobile phone bought from UK Best is buy thro newegg as being a registered company/importer they have certain exemptions from such additional payments Looks like it's best then to wait it out until Newegg stocks the 3G version. Hope it won't be long now, since B&H already has it. |

QUOTE(AmeiN @ Nov 28 2012, 07:28 PM) Actually im finding 1 good tablet to replace double din player car project... Then why not a removable dock? Can take out and bring with you to shopping or just leave it in glove box to deter thieves.Thinking double din already cost around 1.5K(branded) why not used tablet.. just do frame for it... Only curious now, how much temperature N7 can withstand... EDIT: Question is though... how to connect sound system through a 3.5mm connector?
