Normal earphone got 2 ring, if got mic one has 3 ring.

On my nexus 7.
My Samsung one with mic can work,
But my nokia one with mic cannot work.

On my galaxy s2, the nokia one doesn't work.
Samsung one obviously works.

On my Asus laptop, Samsung one work but nokia one don't work.

On ipad2, the nokia one work but Samsung one don't.

So based on your comment, HTC ones not compatible with nexus7.

Man these headphones wit mic relationship is so complicated.
Hope one day all can work on all device.
Ps: what I mean by don't work, is the sound come out very soft n complete distorted like alien screaming.

@mtxx - yes,  bro' mine is 3 ring . Same case with yours.. I certainly sure that might be the problem, so gotta find 1 that compatible

May i ask is there any gestures app that doesnt require root as well as can be used with default launcher. i tried nova launcher but i still prefer the interface of the stock launcher just that i wan those gestures any idea?

stock launcher and nova launcher can be made to look the same..which part not same?

same icons size la from what i noticed..i prefer nova, got more options and its the best launcher i've used so far. worth the price to pay when it was on sale about 2-3 weeks ago.
