In order to enjoy full benefit from MDR 1 abt(LDAC), your music player will need to support LDAC codec(means player and headphone also must support LDAC)

Bought a MDR-100AAP for the wife. My impressions, not bad, but not great either. The bass has some decent depth to it, but it's not very tactile. Mids are a little on the laid-back side but I do like the mostly smooth treble. For a closed headphone, the soundstage is surprisingly wide and airy.

Comfort wise, pretty damn good. Very light and the pleather doesn't actually make my ears sweat like the MDR1 before. I know the material is slightly different, but whatever Sony has in the MDR-100AAP earcups, good choice. Now let's hope it lasts...

The MDR-100AAP are pretty fun headphones as an overall thought. It's not going to win any awards in any department, but as a portable headphone, there aren't many sealed headphones that sound a whole lot better at this price (RM299 last checked at Lazada, legit version).

I did overpay for it though. RM399 at Sony KLCC last weekend. But it made the wife happy, so there's that.

Interested in buying the sony mdr-100, but the color options on lazada only left the green and the purple. =.=

I wish I knew about the discounted price sooner.

The colors are actually lime yellow and pink boardeaux.
Other colors are RM350, the yellow and pink are RM250 (after using coupons/codes).

Both are steal for the price, but I think I'll be a cheapskate this time and get the yellow one.

does anyone knows the difference in between MDR-NW750N & MDR-NC750?

In my opinion, it's just a difference in cataloguing and accessory type.

The former (with N) is built for Walkman or audio devices, so it doesn't have a mic.
The latter is built for Xperia or mobile phones, so it should come with mic.

You'll note that the former is under audio section in the Sony website and the latter is under sonymobile.

As for sound quality, i don't think there should be much difference.
However, in my Xperia Z3 music app --> Sound Settings --> Headphones, it lists:

1. NW750N: Sony noise-cancelling headphones for Walkman
2. NW750: Sony noise-cancelling headphones for Xperia.


So I'm a bit curious why they have a separate option for both, as I assumed the sound quality should be the same.
Btw, I have the NC-31 that came with my Walkman F886, and under the audio settings there is also:
1. NC31/NC033/NC33/N33S: Sony noise -cancelling headphones for Walkman
2 NC31E/EM: Sony noise-cancelling headphones for Xperia.

actually i'm more concern about audio quality. however, since both earphone perform quite similar, i can't really tell the differences in terms of audio quality.

back then, when i listen music with A845, both NC033LP & NC31EM digital noise cancelling activated, and audio quality quite similar too
based on ur opinion, maybe latest Walkman & Xperia enable "fine tune" audio performance for certain earphone/headphone

Well I guess it depends on what you plan to use the earphone with mostly.

If with Walkman and you don't care about phone calling, maybe the 750N might be better.

and no, digital does not have frequency response.
digital signals are only 0's and 1's.

hence why a dac is needed - Digital to analog Converter, to convert digital signals to analog signals so that the output can reproduce them.
