Can anyone explain what's this indulge thing from TGV? Specifically the IMAX Twin Indulge from Sunway Velocity. Is it the same as normal Indulge?

I love to sit up front, and my favorite row is row G. Fills up your whole peripheral vision and close to the speaker in front to feel the bass.

Though some people might feel it's a bit too near (you might need to move your eyes around a bit to see the whole screen), but it's how I like it, to feel immersed!

Ok done!
Seriously can't wait for the movie of the year based on everyone's hype.
I do hope it reaches my expectations.

I think the IMAX Indulge in Sunway Velocity only sells the seats.
But if you take via Indulge you will get access to the waiting area and also food included.
So more expensive if through Indulge tab vs IMAX tab.

Edit: It seems the showtime via Indulge tab for IMAX is no more already.
Haritu ada, now no more.
Maybe sold out ald.

Lol I booked an Onyx DA session in Tropicana Gardens GSC today. However, the hall had audio issues where the dialogue audio was absent around 10 minutes through the film. After a long wait, they decided to refund everyone there. Anyway, a lot of halls screening Barbie were fully booked today so I'm gonna follow the memes: Barbenheimer in 1 day; will be watching Barbie after my IMAX Oppenheim viewing.

Here's a better image of the Onyx screen size for yall (the grayish rectangle is the onyx screen)

I have been trying to find a suitable hall to watch Barbie, but I am left with only the Deluxe+ hall at TGV Pavilion Bukit Jalil.
At first I am expecting them to make them available at Dolby Atmos hall yesterday tapi they push it to today, so I was like nvm la.
One thing I am amazed with this hall is the overall comfort and the lighting is just perfect.
The screen is just nice, not as good as Laser tapi good la.
Even the speaker is Dolby 7.1 which is excellent and satisfying for that kind of hall.

Maybe this place will be my go to cinema replacing my usual IOI City Mall, because TGV Pavilion BJ is just so satisfying and worth my money overall.

I have never tried Indulge before since my purpose of going to the cinema is to watch films and not dine, but from what I have read...

Indulge is a TGV trademark luxury hall typically targeted towards couples where you not only watch a film, but also dine in a high class manner. The indulge seats are twin seats that has more cushion for extra comfort, has a flat surface in-between seats to place and dine your meals on, and apparently has built-in buttons to notify staffs to come service you with high-end meals, drinks and other items to your indulgence. Other than that perk, the hall's speakers and screen size are the same from the normal halls, so your only reason for visiting this hall is to have an exquisite movie date with your partner.

In terms of the Indulge twin seats in Sunway Velocity's IMAX hall, they are similar to the ones in the Indulge hall but minus the service buttons as there isn't catering services in the hall. They are also as you will notice, placed in the middle and to the top of the hall where that location is generally considered the best spots to watch a film at in the cinema. Again, I think the Velocity's TGV chain intended for couples to book these seats (they have an extra RM 5 mark-up per person, so the tickets (IMAX RM35 + Indulge RM5) x 2 price is oooofed), however for many of us solo or odd numbered movie-goers, this decision is ass and specifically for me, push me away from going to this IMAX hall (before IOI City Mall's IMAX opened, I had to travel twice as far to 1U just to get a normal IMAX experience).

I know you said rows H and J were better for Central i-City IMAX, but do you know if that's the same for Sunway Velocity IMAX too?

I always watch movies with one of my best friends, so we usually get the Indulge twin seats at that location since it's near our houses. I usually book around row K, but I'm open to moving one or two rows down if it's a better option hahah

Sorry everyone but IMAX With Laser at IOI City Mall is much better.
IMAX Central iCity screen is not as bright and clear like Laser one, but as expected since it is Xenon based.
My eyes feel uncomfortable after one hour of watching Oppenheimer.
But the screen is really huge and the speaker is quite powerful.
And the seating ok la, but overall GSC's one is better thanks to the huge amount of legroom available.
And also the glide seats at some point my back feels uncomfortable, dunno why.
I did not experience this at Pavilion Bukit Jalil one.
Maybe after this for IMAX, I will continue stick with IMAX With Laser.

Thank you for the great explanation! I'm planning to try this next week for Oppenheimer, as the extra Rm5 for indulge experience seems too good to be true.

I believe my recommended seat rows for Sunway Velocity IMAX were H, J and above, not Central I-City's. For I-City, I would say J, then L and above. I sat at H the last time I was there and it was the borderline max for my peripheral vision to comfortably view the entire screen. I would prefer to seat a few rows back. Again, this is my personal seating preference, it can differ for people.

Ps. I would consider avoiding row K since there's a safety fence/half-wall in front which may block some portion of the screen below. I could be wrong but that's my recommendation.

How was the audio quality. Really like the loud 1Utama IMAX audio and hated Sunway Pyramid IMAX sound system.

How was the movie btw?

It is really loud.
Almost as good as IOI City Mall Laser one.
The seat really vibrate during that Trinity Test and also some scenes with heavy bass.
But in terms of speaker, can say Central iCity is a notch better vs IOI, but not that much la.

For me 8/10, but my overall view is, the movie is not for everyone.
My parents doze off because of the movie have a lot of talking and boring for them.
But for me the plot is so packed that sometimes you lost what they are talking about.
The only thing I am amazed with this movie is the cinematography and the sound.
Really impressive.
The best so far.
The black and white part is just so mesmerising.

Did anyone watch Oppenheimer in Velocity IMAX? How's the contrast level? Last time I recalled it's a bit dim but the screen size is worth it.

If it's too dark maybe I'll settle with Laser IMAX

Watched Oppenheimer 12am show last night at IOI. Was fantastic. First time experiencing Imax so can't compare with other cinemas, but the screen fills your vision. Sat in middle of F row. Personally feel this is as low as you should go for a good experience, any lower and won't be great. Think row D or E are the best rows. Sound system was great as well, especially for this movie.

Overall, enjoyable experience at Imax IOI. Picture quality no complaints at all.
