Seems like TGV Central iCity showtime for 2D IMAX is not so convenient for me.

Endgame IMAX 3D is one of the best IMO

surprisingly this time I didn't get any eye strain for 3 hours of 3D movie!


Oh yeah, a word of advice, if going for movie marathon/back to back movie session, always put IMAX as the last movie to watch

watching IMAX first will make your second movie session in a normal hall feels meh
and you'll be wondering is there something wrong with the screen & speakers or is there something wrong with your eyes & ears in the normal hall

I watched Endgame (round 2) at Mytown, MAXX Atmos.. so here's the thing.. screen is huge, wide huge.. visual clarity not great, not enought contract and colour for that large screen. I still feel the Laser projector at MBO Starling the best! I could be wrong.

Sound was good but I sense the rattling top back, I was seated at G and I could hear the rattle during the battle scene (someone here did mention in this forum).

Somehow I was not able to hear OR get proper effects from the "voice of God" speakers (overhead), like literally none! It's an Atmos film and all I could profoundly hear are all channels except overhead. I'm not sure if it's the mixing of the film or Mytown GSC downplayed the sound setup.. I just don't know.

How about other Atmos cinema experience? Was it the same? Like faint over the head effects for endgame? How about other Atmos movies in Mytown MAXX? Were they good or nothing great? The only and best Atmos effect I have felt in cinema was for San Andreas at IOI city MAXX.

So, the screen size are about the same imo. The seating of icity is definitely better than velocity, which velocity has a stupid design of putting all the indulge seats at the best positions of the cinema. I city IMAX wins this time.

If wanna compare screen size, I still thinks 1U IMAX is bigger while Sunway pyramid IMAX is the smallest. Icity and velocity IMAX are in the middle.

Nice! Tgv did mention that the largest IMAX screen is Velocity. 2nd largest is 1U..

I Will choose near to my house Setia Walk (TGV) it always not so crowded and comfortable.

I watch IMAX the first time and i dont mind IMAX the 2nd time later hahahaha

MBO Starling Mall Big Screen vs GSC 1U Atmos which one better?

Starling mall any time.. screen is gigantic and Laser projector that does very well. The Atmos is also good in MBO Starling. The colour and contrast is world apart, you can see the different in Starling Big screen.

TGV Central i-City's IMAX & ONYX Hunting Report




Personally, its the best IMAX in Malaysia currently (Kuching aside as yet to go there). Firstly, the Glide seats were a plus. Since its still a new cinema, the glide seats function pretty well and makes sitting nearer to the screen a fun experience. The seats are comfy and the leg room is ample enough for me (6 ft tall). Projection and sound were excellent as its still new (no 4K Laser yet, TGV pls bring it to Malaysia). Fresh speakers & clean screen! Its the biggest digital IMAX in West Malaysia as well. Give it a try for future blockbusters!













To those asking about the Onyx, here you go.



Its bigger than the one at MidValley, definitely. I caught a glimpse of the screen and you can expect the same visual quality of Onyx cinemas. Not a fan of Onyx as I still prefer to watch movies the way filmmakers intended us to, on projection screens and yeah obviously Onyx's sound system is comparable to normal cinema halls. IMAX > Onyx

On a whole, I believe Central i-City is the best cinema to visit in Shah Alam/Setia Alam/Klang area right now!

Unfortunate that MBO isn't showing John Wick 3 on their Big Screen (Starling) hall as it's still reserved for Avengers 4. Makes sense business wise, but JW3 audio track simply outclasses Avengers 4.

So yeah guys, too bad everyone still circle jerking to Avengers 4 and fucking pokemon that you're missing out on one of the best sounding movie in the last 2 years.

How come I noticed Central I-city IMAX cinema the picture looks clearer and sharper compare with the one at Sunway Pyramid. Anyone has the same thought with me ? One thing for sure is their new glide chair very nice to sit .

Anyway feel sad because the cinema is very far from my place, so cannot go there frequently.
