Watched Lion King on the last day in IMAX before that car movie takes over, so had to go to icity. I must say it was pretty darn good for 20 bucks. Free midnight parking too. Makes up for the long drive. An empty IMAX hall definitely makes it look way bigger lol

Is 1u's one really bigger? Not respecting velocity for the indulge seat choices.

the indulge seats are quite disturbing but the imax is very good a spacious but the downside since the one in 1U upgraded to leather seats the space of the seats gets smaller and cramp but sunway velocity is bigger than 1U since its almost as big as the former berjaya times square imax normaly if i watch imax always take the normal aisle seat next to the indulge seat.

Actually according to lfexaminer calculations, Sunway Velocity IMAX screen is the largest in Malaysia with 19.4m in height and 25.9m in width which is almost as tall as the 70mm Imax in Paragon Bangkok with 19.9m in height with 27.3m in width.
Due to the seating and angle problems, along with the projector not really 70mm IMAX and not even latest IMAX Laser and most of the movies released are not opt for the screen, you will feel the screen is much smaller because the image projects right at the centre where most of the seats were too high thus it felt too small, compared with 1U screen which is just 12.5m in height and 22m in width but the image projects perfectly from bottom to ceiling along with the good seating making it feels superbly large.
Thus, I guess if movies that were released in 70mm IMAX such as Dunkirk or upcoming TENET, will fully utilized the tall screen. While I am sure 70mm IMAX scene would not fully fit in 1U screen as it just not tall enough for the image.
But I am not sure if it will expand along with the screen height on those 70mm IMAX sequence in Velocity.
Anyone experienced or seen 70mm IMAX scenes in Velocity before? Any updates??

Doubt on 4k laser IMAX. No promo by GSC for it as well. Singapore has 4K Laser IMAX @ Changi Airport and Paya Lebar. Better go there tongue.gif

RM150... blink.gif Should be reserved for someone special on an occasion/birthday/celebration. I'm impressed we have such high grade cinema facilities + the movie goers who would pay top dollars for such an experience. For me GSC Gold Class already top notch for the price.

Are you sure about this. Coz back in 2013 when TGV announced IMAX TEBRAU, it was declared as the biggest in Malaysia for 70ft height. The hall is old now with ceilings all worn off but the screen to seat position is the best. I've watched in Lido IMAX which is bigger screen but seating position sucks. Tebrau IMAX is still good AF.
