So far none of the money changer want coins. Even smaller denomination of notes for eg US$1 they even charge a diff higher rate or some don't even want smaller than S$10!

No need to go so far. depending on where is your location. HK$ is well traded here. So the diff between one money changer to another is very low.. No point spending toll & parking to MV to get the best. Anyway, Wawasan no longer the cheapest. You can find a better & more competitive rate from those Money changers beside, & infront of BB Plaza. Otherwise, just check few around your place & negotiate to the lowest. BTW, wawasan does not change small denomination.

They have not been updating their website in over a month and when i was in KL about two weeks ago, their shoplot was open and there was only one Indian guy inside. Their competitor, MV Money Changer had many people lining outside but not at Wawasan Sentosa. It seemed that they were not allowed to trade... |

I was there at MV Today to change my RMB. Yeah Wawasan is temporay closed due to licensing problem which they try to sort out according to the guy manning there. He told me to goto the NZ Margazine store opposite McD and in betwen Popeye/Digi store.
Well, same rate as MV. I got RMB at 49.75 abit lower than MV at 49.80 Today. |

He told me to goto the NZ Margazine store opposite McD and in betwen Popeye/Digi store. Hopefully they will sort of the licensing issue soon and most important, back to updating their exchange rate on their website on a daily basis again. They may not always offer the lowest rate but their exchange rate is very competitive and i always use their exchange rate as a reference whenever i want to buy foreign currency, be it from them or other money changer. Thanks for the info, by the way Well, same rate as MV. I got RMB at 49.75 abit lower than MV at 49.80 Today. |

I can confirm Stimix's report that Wawasan Sentosa is temporary out of business pending renewal of license. They pay shop rental in MV buta buta for 1 mths + already. Don't know why BNM withhold their license renewal for so long. This post has been edited by aeiou228: Nov 8 2011, 02:17 PM |

I changed at MV the bookshop cum money changer in front of MacDonald and save RM75. By the way, all the 3 money changers in MV always quoted the same rates including Maybank. I think they all pakat already, no point undercutting each other. But people still queue at M.V Forex yet just opposite, Maybank offering the same rates. |
