QUOTE(patryn33 @ Dec 2 2014, 09:04 PM) U can go on Taobao to find something Can share link of China brand u got? Here you go http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a230r...id=&abbucket=15This model I ordered back there during 11.11 is 398 CNY without the hand grinder free gift. And + 6kg shipping fees to Malaysia is around RM320 and that time I feel very lucky nad happy cause it's quite cheap. But after that don't know is the problem of diff courier I use this time tell me that this coffee machine is categorized as Special Goods which means that I need to top up around RM100 for 6kg Sepcial Goods which Special Goods cost 118 CNY for the first KG and 23 CNY for the subsequent 0.5KG. This give me almost a heart attack shock cause I bought a 5 bar espresso machine few months ago and it did not categorized as Special Goods I'm just a UC student and I feel that it is quite pain to spent almost RM220 on the shipping fees which with this price I can get another machine that cost 398 CNY . Besides that, I found that I can get a Delonghi EC155 for this price range during Black Friday sales from Amazon or RM449 from Senheng http://www.senheng.com.my/christmas-sales-...-dlh-ec155.htmlNow I am still blaming for the shipping fees

QUOTE(mel5582 @ Dec 2 2014, 10:55 PM) Definitely will do a review.. but I guess it'll be used more on filter coffees.. but will try espresso and see how consistent it will be. Actually.. for most electronic coffee machines, they're made to pump at 15 bars. This is because by the time the pressure reaches the brew head, it'll be somewhere around 12 bars or less.. In my opinion, the machine you got from Taobao would be the same as the DeLonghi from Seng Heng QUOTE(patryn33 @ Dec 3 2014, 02:33 AM) looks like U paid over rm$500 to get the taobao produc. it pays to do a little more reseach at times b4 jumping on a deal. if U get a delonghi here still have warranty, taobao no warranty really.... its a risk u have to take If the price gap is far then I'm ok with it but with this price plus all those shipping bla bla I can get a more trustable brand locally with warranty but no choice la I already bought LOL. I've learnt the lesson that never buy those electrical or expensive stuff from taobao Now what I can do is wait the arrival of the coffee machine and some luck with it

QUOTE(mel5582 @ Dec 6 2014, 02:40 PM) Yeah, those are pressurized baskets.. for the PF, is the diameter 49mm? I think you can just replace the baskets with non-pressurized ones. As for the steam wand, has it got a removable nozzle? I think it's one of those that you just steam the milk without having to let air in.. if not, try to let air in slowly till you get a muffled noise instead of a high pitched one while steaming the milk. Can't find any measurement for the diameter in my instruction book but I use ruler to measure i think is 60mm. Yea I can remove the black thing is that the nozzle you mentioned? But after I remove the black thing and steam the steam sound very high pitch and it won't go down LOL

QUOTE(mel5582 @ Dec 6 2014, 05:46 PM) Try to measure the inside wall.. Wall to wall.. I think should be 58mm then. If it is, then you have more choices of filter baskets because 58mm is the standard size. As for the steam wand, the removable part is actually a nozzle which aids you with letting air into the milk. This part is useless if you want to learn how to properly steam and texture milk for latte art. I've looked up a video which might help you understand how to steam milk after removing the nozzle. It's a delonghi, but they should work the same way with the same technique applied. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhEBKf7tqZEWow thanks dude that video is very useful. btw that's the high pitch sound I get all along the steaming process until I cant stand and turn it off and use battery milk frother where the video only have it when starting LOL. I tried to measure wall to wall from above of the basket it's around 53mm. I not sure accurate or not

QUOTE(mel5582 @ Dec 6 2014, 06:36 PM) You will get that high pitch sound unless you lower your pitcher down slightly whereby there's just a small tiny gap between the tip of your steam wand and the milk surface. This is to let the air sip into the milk.. After the milk expands about 1cm or 1.5cm, raise your pitcher to continue swirling the milk up to temperature. This is the texturing process.. It will help blend the air and milk together while creating microfoam and you won't get the high pitched noise.. hmm I see. Willl try that on my next cup The feeling when I try the pressurized basket on my old 5 bar machine and it came out the fake crema too where my old machine is using non pressurized basket and I keep blaming the machine's pressure so low Now I know

So long u are comfortable with risk go ahead Iirc some Italian online store sells stuff and they provide warranty. But I don't recall they carry low end grinders. Ie http://www.aboutespresso.com/coffee_grinde...=2&sort_dir=aschttps://www.espressocoffeeshop.comJust received my China iPhone case, damage. If seller refuse to ship me replacement it's just 21rm gone. That risk I am ok. So far everything I ordered from China is ok even coffee machine

QUOTE(geney @ Dec 9 2014, 04:57 PM) Need you to share more tips here Me too have been trying to get good froth on Poemia. It's just refused to. Jin pek cek... Most of the time the milk gets really hot (smoking liao!!! ) before seeing bubble (foam) leh... Got once I fill my 20oz pitcher half full (standard is 1/3 I heard) and still... ... Haiz. The milk I use is always cold. Straight from fridge. Few times I put to freezer before frothing too. Same I just receive my China brand machine few days ago and before I watch the video when I steam my milk it keep produce high pitch screaming sound until I beh tahan haha but after I watch the video and keep try to adjust the position and I managed to get rid of the high pitch sound and produce a smooth microfoamed milk but not every time success la Just keep try to adjust the position and try to get a thermometer to keep an eye on the temperature

QUOTE(mel5582 @ Dec 9 2014, 06:15 PM) Yeah, looks like over extraction.. How old are your beans? I'm not sure cause there is no roast date only got expire date I ordered from http://mistercoffee.com.my/ and I choose medium grind ground coffee last time and I use my manual grinder to grind again to finer. After that I try to set to coarser abit it flows too fast pula and taste sour which I believe is under extraction.

QUOTE(mel5582 @ Dec 9 2014, 06:49 PM) I think better buy beans and grind them fresh.. because with pressurized basket, the crema looks.. dissipated.. this could mean that the coffee is no longer fresh.. If you're grinding pre-ground coffee, it'll create a lot of fines and inconsistencies. I think if you were to use the same grounded coffee, you might need the grind setting which is in between your over extracted grind and the one that tastes sour / runny.. hmm I see I see. I ordered 500g arabica and 500g espresso beans from mistercoffee(it only cost RM60 ) and it should be reach by today but still not yet receive. Dont know why always met courier delivery problem . Now ran out of coffee need to wait the bean arrive only can adjust the grind setting. so sad lah

QUOTE(geney @ Dec 10 2014, 12:05 AM) Just now did another try. Sudah bengang liao... Removed everything left only the metal stick. Then found out I need a smaller pitcher It's because the stick simply too short liao... Nvm... I pour little bit more milk. The milk was just nice about 1/2cm covering the tip. Then the milk macam like Cappuccino liao Too much bigger sized bubble. The temp was just nice though. Belum smoking... Without the sleeve however, I think it has more control. So next time I'll try again with the "naked" setting Getting a smaller pitcher too. 12oz ones. Yea I also feel that naked is better if not my milk grow big bubble everywhere in few seconds time and then feels bad haha. You get your equipments from taobao or local?
