Hi Chang,

Hope you don't mind I ask u some question about philips saeco poemia.

How's the espresso produced by Saeco Poemia and also issit producing good amount of crema?

and does it leak before?

My previous Hitachi HEM-C1 gasket got lubang and start to leak whenever a shot is dialed.

Thinking to get a Saeco Poemia Class.

For bottomless Poemia portafilter, don't know where got sell in Malaysia. but I saw this site got sell, it's from other country.

It's a very simple machine as it's using presurized portafilter. Not much skills is needed. It does have crema but not as nice as those non-presurized portafilter one. Overall itis a decent espresso machine.

You can email philips directly.  They will quote you on the spot and tell you the lead time for your order.

Not cheap, last i asked they quoted me RM 82.  I'm also looking for bottomless ones now.

I see~ Philips is selling the one that comes with the machine one right? Any chance they selling the bottomless one? Haha~
Do update here if u ever found a place selling the bottomless portafilter. Thanks. =)

Got my delonghi eco310 from lowyat forum at 599rm.
Mod the portafilter to unpressurized. Using proper tamper and manage to get good crema.

Saeco Poemia user here.

Used it since 10 months ago. No known issues yet.

Very forgiving for noobs like me as the portafilter is pressurized.

Thanks for sharing with me. biggrin.gif

I end up go for Delonghi Icona ECO320B due to the discounted price with 5 years warranty by Kitchen Tech.

So far so good, good espresso pulled but still learning latte art and steam milk.

But still worry that it will leak after few months claimed from some user on Amazon.

I cut and remove plastic bottom from portafilter. Also remove the nut piece so that bottom is flat for tamping.

Baratza encore on eBay around 750rm.
Many shops in KL selling high end stuff. Most don't look at ppl using cheap machine. That's why I'm buying from eBay. Tried making hit chocolate last night. Choc syrup and hot milk. Heaven!

Skerton suite better for drip/pour over/french press due to its manual nature which is tiring. you could try the electric drill mod to skip the exercise part for fine grind.

Hi, i didn't see any thread on coffee making method. Hence i would like to start one here. Been a addicted to Melbourne coffee since i am back from there. They seriosly having a stong coffee culture there. Love love love their latte. The creama is perfectly there. Espresso in the other hand are an eye opener there. To cut the crap, here to share my method of brewing my own cup of coffee.. Btw, i am using I using the following bean. Proud Mary Angel Wing (Hse blend), Seven seeds single origin - Honduras Finca El Naranjo and Nicaragua Javanica, Highlander Supremo Blend (Hse Blend), Tesco finest Costa Rica (This is ground coffee)

My coffee toy

[attachmentid=3069535]

French Press - Cappuccino

1. Freshly grind 7-8g of fresh coffee bean (coarse type)
2. 100ml hot water bout 90 deg ish. (boiled it until bubbling and rest it for 20 seconds)
3. Pour the water into the freshly grinded coffee in the french press.
4. Set timer for 3 minutes.
5. While waiting for coffee, boiled Farmhouse milk for 45 seconds
6. Pour out press coffee into coffee mug
7. Pour the Farmhouse milk into a cup and frothed it with milk frother.
8. Slowly pour out the milk and used spoon to block the foam.
9. Lastly pour the foam on top and sprinkle some chocolate powder/cinnamon/nutmeg (whichever u like) on the foam.
* add chocolate syrup or powder if wanna make mocha

Finished product
