Taste is very subjective... especially when it comes to coffee. Everyone has his own preference of good coffee. For example, some people likes dark roast espresso with very low acidity, some might not. Some people like to use a creamier Farmhouse milk in their Latte while others prefer a more refreshing Greenfield or FarmFresh milk.

Thanks! I've heard of Bodum. But it seems to be pretty much the same thing though. Brewed coffee should taste pretty much the same, right?
Wanted to get one for a LONG time - finally did from Starbucks (by chance) Not a bad deal actually - one small Bodum (brews 2 cups) and a free bag of beans (of your choice!) for RM75. The only annoying thing is you have to redeem your beans a few days later

Well, mechanism is the same, but with different quality of material. I've seen some very cheap china-made French Press only less than RM10, it uses low quality glass (easy to break) and strainer (can't filter the coffee ground properly).

Oh I see. Maybe I should just pony up for a decent one from the start.
Hi. im new here. just read through the whole topic.
I have this doubt: does over roasting of coffee that is too bitter promote cancer due to high carbon produced? this is most likely found in instant coffee and also the local kopitiam. Does it kill you faster rather than saving you by the antioxidant values in it?
Just bought TESCO Finest single origin Colombian coffee. what kind of instant coffee is this? Is it pre-brewed coffee?

Guys, just some info on the offer above. Apparently, the offer only stands for the large Bodum press (RRP RM95.00 @ Starbucks). Couldn't claim my bag of coffee here
Looks like I have a fight to pick @ the Starbucks I bought it from
Just went to The Brew Culture yesterday.. the cafe mocha is very rich in chocolate. loved it. but still not sure about the coffee taste. cant differentiate them yet.
Is this good? Compare to Hario Coffee Hand Grinder Skerton
I haven't tried Krups grinder before so I can't compare, but you can google around. Many people say that Hario hand grinder produces more consistent coffee grounds than electric coffee grinder below RM400.
The best "budget" electric burr grinder below RM400 are those Taiwanese "小飛馬" style grinders (Feima / Akira / Tiamo brands). You can see those at some of the local cafes (Typica cafe, Await, Coffee Famille), it's around RM300 if you buy in Taiwan. In malaysia you can only buy it online (around RM400).
You can get Bialetti Moka pot at Parkson, Isetan, Starbucks (not all outlets), Kitchen Shop Bangsar Village (Tescona Paloma brand), Ikea (its inhouse brand).

Hi all,
Any1 have any idea where can i get a Moka Pot around Klang Valley area?? Thx..
oh, Coffee Ritual has just re-stock their Porlex hand grinder (RM230). Porlex's build quality looks more solid than Hario (thicker crank and metal body)~
