Visa and MasterCard now charge a cross border transaction fee even when no currency conversion occurs. This relatively new fee - “cross border transaction fee” (MC) or “International Service Assessment (ISA) fee” (Visa) – was initiated by Visa and MC to ‘fight’ usage of the international credit card processing network when no currency conversion occurs.

The rule is simple, avoid using CIMB card any oversea online transaction, then you are save.

Yes... if wjleong15 able to pay with RMB would be great, this would save some money.
But not everyone able with their alipay account in RMB, probably want to avoid some risk to ask alipay agent pay for the transaction? sweat.gif

I opened in Malaysia and will open a bank account in China next time to link it.
Now cannot verify my ID. It is linked to my credit cards and charged straight to my CC with 3% service charge, with cash back still OK la. However, whenever I need any fund, my China best friend will transfer to my AliPay or she helps me to pay for my stuff and we only kira when we meet each other. tongue.gif

No la. Never had the chance to do it every time in China. Since I can pay with AliPay and WeChat Wallet in China, so never thought of opening a bank account.
