QUOTE(Wongchoy @ May 29 2014, 11:28 AM) It will lump into your retail price. You will notice it after all because u are using ringgit overseas. yeap definitely u will notice it cos the total quoted price is in ringgit but when it appear on your online banking/bank statement u would see an extra 0.8% but anyway if u are fine with 4.2% cash back and the amount is not that huge still ok to use it This post has been edited by DarReNz: May 29 2014, 11:44 AM |

QUOTE(knwong @ Jul 29 2014, 12:03 AM) I have Singapore credit card and I use it in Brunei to pay for my meal. I thought no currency conversion since BND is peg with SGD. Turns out I was charge this cross border transaction fee for every transaction guess u have to apply another sg cc which doesn't have this fee |

QUOTE(dhartini @ Aug 22 2014, 10:32 AM) I wonder if banks only charge 0.8% to selected website only? It shouldn't be that case right? But I'm been using HLB Wise to purchase from 2 Korean website, non of them charging extra than initial conversion amount. I can see the different (additional charges) when using CIMB card. as long the payment system is outside of malaysia, will get charged |

QUOTE(dhartini @ Sep 2 2014, 11:10 AM) Reporting no cross border fee when purchase Xiaomi using HLB Wise...i can safely assume HLB Wise won't charge cross border fee. But I would prefer to find cards that give some reward like cashback or points yet not charging cross border fee, any idea? public bank, maybank and aeonThis post has been edited by DarReNz: Sep 5 2014, 11:29 AM |

QUOTE(zuweit @ Sep 14 2014, 10:09 PM) i am concern about the currency exchange rate now. which bank has the lowest rate, anyone? most of my online purchase are in foreign currencies. best would be aeon cards, if you used mbb2 cards and pay in usd the difference would be between 2.5 to 3% |

QUOTE(Petre @ Apr 25 2016, 10:36 AM) do you mean that if i pay using one of the listed cards below: cross border fees are extra fees which is 0.8% that you have fork out and yeah for the banks that don't charge means they are the ones actually absorbing the cost .... so far I have known Aeon gives the best exchange rate .... take a look at this thread to compare https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1845691i can save some $? paypay usd rate is around 0.25 to RM1 the few other times i paid using paypaly that is linked to my HLB card the other day tried paying direct using ambank credit card, same rate both are on ebay items |

QUOTE(Petre @ Apr 26 2016, 02:42 PM) any difference if i pay an ebay item using paypal (that is linked to my CC) or directly checkout using CC? if you have used the same CC to pay for both paypal and direct is the same rate so most likely it doesn't have the cross border fees, so you don't have to worry so far i tried both methods, i paid the same rate on both occasions am i doing this right? could i have saved more using a method that you guys know and i dont? biggrin.gif thanks in advance for your reply but if you use amex to pay as compared to visa/mastercard, you would see a difference This post has been edited by DarReNz: Apr 26 2016, 03:01 PM |
