Donki reduced their retail floor space bit by bit before closing, towards the end it was quite quiet, used to buy beef there but stopped after seeing the drop in quality and offering due to low traffic
Latest attraction is the huge pet store, good luck to them, there's just not enough visitors

QUOTE(Babizz @ Apr 15 2024, 06:51 AM) Recently dined in the mall during buka puasa time. All restaurants were full but other shops seem like struggling. Consider changing the upper floors into F&B or entertainment based (escape room, laser adventure, 4D movies, + video game shops)

QUOTE(lost_control @ Apr 14 2024, 06:58 PM) Oh ya forgotten about dondonki. Recall that their opening is actually quite happening back then, next to signature starbucks. Wondering what causes it to exit the mall. Deteriorating? been some time didnt go to the mall, may drop by to check it out curiously. Sometimes malls that are built too big would need careful planning to attract the shops and patrons. Should take a themed approach to the different wings/sections

Too many malls in PJ already. Many are struggling. Don don donki was different as they don't have a presence in many malls. Now what would distinguish the mall from other malls?

Easily 10 mil square feet of retail space in PJ Damansara area. Malaysians spending power not so stronk. This would end up like TCM after a few years.

Heard that IOI is in the midst of discussion to acquire Tropicana Gardens mall.. W Hotel @ KLCC also sold to IOI already early this year. Hopefully they can retain those big tenants in the mall..

QUOTE(Rinth @ Apr 5 2024, 05:11 PM) When is edelweiss official launched? seems like need at least 2 years only can VP. haven't even reached the highest 52 floor i think Can't exactly recalled when was the launching. But visited their show unit post-MCO, I think somewhere in yr 2021 if not mistaken. Went Tropicana Gardens Mall on eve of Raya last week and came across Edelweiss property booth. Apparently still have a few 900sqft++ service apt units left unsold. Staff said after rebate, it's about RM980psf. RM1mil++ selling price before the rebate.

Should be have a lot unsold bah, the ads are everywhere still lol. 980psf still very high, considered the density and upcoming 3k units from golf course side. The new launches will be tough, if Psf lower kena hentam, if higher cannot sell…only can build kicimiao sqft to bring down the absolute price… This post has been edited by Rinth: Apr 17 2024, 08:35 PM

Thanks to the pet shop, the mall (certain areas) have now become pet-friendly. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing.
The layout of the mall is bad. Too many corners, too spread out. Next is the tenant pool. They are neither here nor there.
Good thing is they have some quality eateries which make me go there a few times a month. But I would not think of this as a shopping or lepak mall for sure.

1000 psf is a little on the high end. KD is a nice and mature area, however its biggest issue is access.

I say liberalise it further - do pet adoptions and wine tastings in the main foyer.

Really pitiful to see premium paid are unrealised as development for Edelweiss is not even completed yet. View are really uncertain and personally Don’t see the values of paying premium for view( especially there’s empty lands infront) . But Ofc I’ll pay premium to avoid highway facing due to my noise tolerance. Feel free to share your thoughts.
